Let's talk lash lifts and how they are affected in this heat 🥵
With temperatures rising, it's important for lash lift technicians to understand how heat can affect their treatments and make adjustments where needed.
☀️ How heat can affect lash lifts:
• Processing times may speed up as the products become warmer.
• Clients may naturally have warmer skin temperatures, which can accelerate product development.
• Products left in hot treatment rooms, cars, or direct sunlight may become less stable and affect results.
• Over-processing is more likely if normal timings are followed without monitoring lash development.
💡 Tips for technicians during hot weather:
✔️ Store products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
✔️ Check the manufacturer's recommended storage temperatures.
✔️ Monitor the lashes throughout the treatment rather than relying solely on standard timings.
✔️ Be prepared to reduce processing times if the lashes are lifting more quickly than expected.
✔️ Don't use any coverings / brow clingfilm. As these speed up times and trap in the heat.
✔️ Ensure treatment rooms are well ventilated and comfortable for both you and your client.
✔️ Use fresh products and replace any that may have been exposed to excessive heat.

For the first 24 hours following a lash lift, clients should:
• Avoid water, steam, saunas and excessive sweating.
• Avoid touching or rubbing the lashes.
• Avoid sleeping face down where possible.
• Avoid oil-based products around the eye area.
Heat won't ruin a lash lift or brow lamination but understanding how temperature can influence product performance helps technicians achieve consistent, safe and beautiful results all year round.
Knowledge, observation and adapting your timings are key to successful lash lifting in every season. ✨
☀️ SUNBEDS & LASH EXTENSIONS ☀️
Did you know that regular sunbed use can affect the longevity of your lash extensions?
The intense heat and UV exposure from sunbeds can weaken the adhesive bond, causing your extensions to shed sooner than expected.
Heat can also dry out your natural lashes, making them more prone to breakage and reducing overall retention.
If you're using sunbeds and finding your lashes aren't lasting as long as usual, this could be one of the reasons why.
