One thing I always remind my students is this...

Getting flashback isn’t the finish line.
It’s easy to get excited when you see it, especially when you’re learning, but that’s not the point where I stop assessing.

Before I connect any IV line, I want to see a few things that give me confidence the cannula is exactly where it should be. A flashback, blood return (where appropriate), and a smooth saline flush all help build that picture.

None of these checks should be looked at on their own. It’s about putting them together, using your clinical judgement and never rushing the process.

Those extra few seconds can make all the difference.

Every certificate represents more than just a completed course.
