This is probably one of the trickiest cuticle types to work on. It’s sticky, overgrown, super sensitive… and honestly, it’s the kind of client that makes a lot of techs panic (including me at the start)!!

The reality is, there’s no “one size fits all” prep. Every set of hands is different, and the more clients you see, the more you realise you have to adapt your technique not just follow the same routine every single time.

When you can look at a nail and know exactly how to approach it correctly, that’s when you’re working like an actual nail technician. Your prep gets cleaner, your retention gets better, and you stop crossing your fingers every time a client leaves.

That’s the difference between just following steps… and actually understanding what you’re doing. It’s exactly why I always say learn the technique, not just the products.
