What an adventure! From incredible highs to some seriously tough moments, our Everest Base Camp challenge had it all. We came within touching distance—just 2km from Base Camp—before severe weather shut the route down. Was it gutting? Absolutely. But was it an achievement we’re proud of? Without question.

For seven days, we trekked in perfect conditions, then the aftermath of Cyclone Montha turned everything upside down. Three days stuck in Lukla, two unexpected helicopter flights, missed connections, and a sickness bug that swept through the group… and let’s not even talk about a couple of those nightmare teahouses.

But even with all that, we wouldn’t change a thing. We shared the journey with an incredible team and raised a fantastic amount of money for Willen Hospice Milton Keynes — a cause truly worth the challenge.

Only a few days to go until Steve and Dan set off on their Everest Base Camp trek for Willen Hospice Milton Keynes! 🌍 After months of training, the boys will fly to Nepal on 18 October 2025 for a 16‑day adventure that includes 11 days of trekking to 5,364 m.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far – your generosity has already helped us raise just over £12,000. We’re still around £2,900 short of our £15,000 target, and every pound makes a difference. Willen Hospice Milton Keynes relies heavily on fundraising to provide compassionate, personalised care for people with life‑limiting illnesses and their families.
