DID YOU KNOW?
Hard skin isn’t simply “dry skin”!
Calluses and areas of hard skin develop when your feet are exposed to repeated pressure and friction. Your skin naturally thickens as a protective response. 👣
You may notice hard skin around:
✨ Heels
✨ The balls of your feet
✨ Sides of your feet
✨ Areas where your shoes rub
✨ Under pressure points
Although a small amount of hard skin can be completely normal, thick, painful or cracked areas shouldn’t be ignored.
The important thing is to understand why the pressure is happening — it could be related to your footwear, the way you walk, or the way pressure is distributed across your feet.
💚 Regular professional foot care can help keep hard skin under control and your feet comfortable.
Look after your feet — they work hard for you every day!

Today’s client case 👣
A client came to me with areas of hard, thickened skin (calluses). During a closer assessment, I also discovered a corn that was causing additional pressure in the area.
Corns and calluses often develop as a result of repeated pressure and friction, so it’s important not only to treat the thickened skin, but also to consider what may be causing it.
With professional foot care, the affected area can be safely reduced, helping the feet feel smoother and more comfortable.
Every pair of feet is different, and sometimes there’s more going on than initially visible. 👣

Fungal nails, don't ignore the signs
A fungal nail infection can cause nails to become:
• Thickened
• Discoloured or yellow
• Brittle or crumbly
• Distorted in shape
• Separated from the nail bed
Fungal nail infections can take time to clear, so early assessment and the right treatment plan are important.
If you’re concerned about changes to your toenails, don’t hide them — get them checked 👣❤️

When an ingrown toenail breaks…
This client's toenail wasn't just ingrown—it had also broken at the side, leaving a sharp edge digging into the surrounding skin. This can be painful, catch on socks, and increase the risk of infection if left untreated.
During the appointment, I carefully removed the offending nail spike, treated the area, and relieved the discomfort.
If your toenail is:
👣 Painful or tender
👣 Broken or split
👣 Growing into the skin
👣 Difficult to trim yourself
Don't struggle with it. Professional treatment can provide relief and help prevent further problems.

Fungal nails – more than just a cosmetic problem 👣
Yellow, thickened, brittle or crumbly nails can all be signs of a fungal nail infection. Left untreated, it can gradually spread, making the nail more difficult to treat over time.
Early treatment gives the best chance of improvement. During your appointment I will:
👣 Assess the nail
👣 Reduce thickened nails if needed
👣 Advise on the most appropriate treatment
👣 Give you practical tips to help prevent the infection from returning
Healthy nails take time to grow, so patience and consistency are key—but improvement is possible.
If you're worried about changes to your toenails, don't ignore them. Book an appointment and let's get your feet back on the path to healthy nails. ❤️
