SNOAP

You want to be more eco-friendly… but you really don't want to share a bar of soap.

We get it. In fact, it's one of the reasons SNOAP exists.

Pop solid soap into the dispenser, turn the top and SNOAP grates it into a fine powder. Add water and lather as normal.

You get the benefits of solid soap, with the convenience of a dispenser — and without buying another bottle of liquid wash every time it runs out.

Would this convert you back to a bar? 💚

How many bottles can two SNOAP bars replace?

Approximately 20 × 250ml bottles — for approximately the same number of washes.

Seeing them all together makes the difference rather difficult to ignore.

Most of us have spent years buying bottles of liquid hand wash without really questioning the system: buy the bottle, use the contents, throw it away, replace it with another bottle.

With the SNOAP Refillable Soap Dispenser System, you keep the dispenser and refill it with solid bars instead.

Two bars provide approximately the same number of washes as 20 × 250ml bottles of liquid wash.

Keep the dispenser. Refill with bars. 💚

Where did SNOAP end up this month?

September took us from a festival field to Tuscany, onto a keynote stage in Cardiff — and into the home of a family whose story reminded us why changing something as ordinary as the way we wash can matter.

At Shambala, SNOAP was being used alongside Wild W***y Cabins, giving festival-goers access to proper handwashing without relying on bottle after bottle of liquid wash.

In Tuscany, Scott & Angus had started by trying just one SNOAP at their beautiful La Torre agriturismo. They loved it. One became many, and SNOAP is now being used throughout the property.

Back in Cardiff, I gave the opening keynote at the Welsh Alumni National Conference, sharing what I've learnt from 22 years, four businesses and the rather unexpected journey that eventually led to inventing SNOAP.

And Tracey and Callie's story brought September back to something much more personal: the people who actually use SNOAP every day.

That's what I love about looking back at a month like this.

SNOAP might have started with a problem in our own family bathroom, but it's increasingly turning up in places I could never have imagined back in 2020.

Festival fields. Hotels. Businesses. Homes.

Where next?

That's September's SNOAPBox. 💚

Peter Jones saw something bigger than a soap dispenser.

There was a moment in the Den when Peter started talking about what SNOAP could become.

And then he made that comparison.

Watching it back still makes me think about what we are actually trying to build.

Because the opportunity for SNOAP isn't simply to sell more soap.

It's to change the system people use to wash.

Instead of repeatedly buying bottles of liquid hand wash, body wash and shampoo, the SNOAP Refillable Soap Dispenser System stays in place and is refilled with solid bars.

Keep the dispenser. Refill with bars.

Peter understood that.

And his comparison with Tetra Pak showed that he wasn't just looking at the product sitting in front of him in the Den. He was thinking about what could happen if an everyday system changed at scale.

That's a rather exciting thought when you're the person who invented it in the family bathroom. 💚

🐉 WHAT THE DRAGONS SAID ABOUT SNOAP — PART 4

Next week, there's one Dragon left…

One SNOAP dispenser went to Tuscany. Then one became many. 🇮🇹💚

This is La Torre sulla via Francigena — an organic agriturismo created by Scott & Angus in the Tuscan countryside.

And it is a brilliant example of something we talk about a lot at SNOAP: sustainability works best when you change the system, not simply the packaging.

At La Torre, that thinking runs throughout the business. They farm organically, generate much of their electricity from solar and clean and recycle water on site.

Then they discovered SNOAP on Dragons’ Den.

Rather than changing everything at once, they bought one SNOAP Refillable Soap Dispenser and put it to the test.

They loved it.

So one became many.

Today SNOAP is being used throughout La Torre, including in its guest bathrooms and showers.

But there was a connection we didn't know about at first.

Scott & Angus know a thing or two about building a business in front of the television cameras too — their journey transforming La Torre featured on Channel 4’s A New Life in the Sun.

Their story made it to television.
Ours made it to the Den.
And now those two stories have crossed paths in Tuscany.

We rather like that. 💚

This is SNOAP IN THE WORLD 🌍 — real businesses, in real places, choosing a different way to wash.

Where will SNOAP check in next?

It’s my birthday! 🎂💚

And I’ve been thinking about just how much has happened since my last one.

We became B Corp certified. SNOAP has found its way into more homes and businesses. We’ve continued working with Deborah and Peter. And an idea that began because I was frustrated by all the bottles in our family bathroom continues to grow into something much bigger.

But none of that happens without people choosing to give a small business and a new idea a chance.

So today I really just want to say thank you.

Thank you for buying SNOAP. For coming back for your bars. For leaving reviews. For sending photographs. For recommending us to friends. And for becoming wonderfully SNOAPy along the way. 💚

I did have one birthday wish, though…

I’d like to get even more SNOAPs out into the world.

So until midnight tomorrow, add two qualifying SNOAP products (must include main SNOAP Dispenser) to your basket and use code HBTY50 at checkout and we’ll take 50% off the cheaper one.

And now, I think birthday cake is calling. 🎂

Steven wanted in… 👀

When Antony and I walked into the Dragons’ Den, we genuinely had no idea whether any of the Dragons would see the potential in SNOAP.

By this point, things were starting to get rather interesting.

Steven Bartlett had been listening, questioning and working out what he thought of the business.

And then he said this. 💚

What the Dragons said about SNOAP — Part 3.

There’s still more to come…

16/09/2026

I never actually set out to invent a soap dispenser.

I was trying to solve a problem we had in our own family bathroom.

We wanted to reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles we were getting through, and solid soap seemed like the obvious answer.

But with three children and five of us using the bathroom, I quickly realised something.

I liked the convenience of a dispenser.

And that got me thinking: why should choosing solid soap mean giving that up?

Why couldn't we have both?

So rather than asking people to change the way they wash, I started trying to change what goes inside the dispenser.

Two and a half years of designing, testing and prototypes later, that question became SNOAP.

Solid soap bars go inside. Turn the top and SNOAP grates just what you need into a fine powder. Add water and wash as normal.

When the bars eventually run out, you keep the dispenser and refill it.

It's strange looking at it sitting beside a sink now because the idea seems so simple.

But perhaps that's what invention often is.

Looking at something we've all accepted as normal and asking: does it actually have to be this way? 💚
