Happy Friday for me…

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend so far. I’m now closed until Wednesday!

No batch cooking for me this weekend and no other plans apart washing my car now the London Road works have finished and finally giving myself some much needed Microneedling, I’ve also taken my LED lamp home which I’ll give myself 30mins under each day over the next 3!

My neck is still a work in progress!
It’s super reactive to any active ingredients including SPF…
I put it down to using the same skincare products I used on my face in my teens to treat acne (Clearasil & Biactol) and spraying perfume on it!
The skin on your neck and around your eyes should always be treated differently!

Up until now I’ve avoided Microneedling because of the heat and both LED & Radio Frequency because of my eye!

I’m still happy hair wise with my hair being darker and my greys coming through, my old blonde is now showing through which I don’t mind. Next hair appointment the beginning of September which will be a year since I last had any blonde added!

Still no Botox for a year and a half and no fillers for over two years.

I was asked today if I’d cut down my hours with dropping my one Sunday per month?

I haven’t cut them down, I’ve increased my weekly availability by 2 hours!

My working/available hours each week from September will be 41 hours over 4 days, unless I have a holiday or any appointments booked for myself…

Wilf’s feeling a bit tired and grumpy at the moment.
He’s had a trip to the vets today who’ve done a great job de-hairing his inner ears and treating his infections!
He had to go under to be treated but it’s a good job done… 💙

There’s a reason I’m saying this!
I’m not just a daughter, a wife, a mother and a grandmother…
I’m someone who has years and years of knowledge about the dangers of unprotected sun exposure!

My dad…
Through thinning hair and frequent holidays abroad my dad had and still has skin cancer on his scalp! He has already had skin grafts and as far as I know his treatment is still ongoing…

My husband…
Our first holiday to Ibiza in 2018 -
The first thing I bought when I was out there was a sun hat.
David was moody with me because It cost a little bit more than the cheaper ones and he thought that because I was in Ibiza I was making some sort of fashion statement!
I’d previously caught heatstroke at my sisters wedding and I’d had my scalp burned during a holiday in Turkey!
This particular holiday we visited Ibiza town but got off at the wrong bus stop in the next bay!
We decided to walk into Ibiza town from Playa den Bossa and I could see the Castle on our right but David insisted we walked along the highway which would have taken us to who knows where…
We eventually decided to turn around and head left towards the castle which also took us to Playa den Bossa where we caught a boat into Ibiza town. We then walked up to the castle and back and around the town it was a bit tense and not much of a pleasure…
This was the Monday, the next day David was so poorly, he’d caught sunstroke, thankfully we were flying home on the Wednesday!
Since then he’s always worn a hat!!!

My husbands wife…
3 years ago when David had cancer,
there was a men’s health group meeting at the Queens Medical or City where a nurse educated them about skin care. Paul Smith had donated a number of well being bags to be given out at these meetings. In this bag there was some spf 50 for the face…
When David came home from the meeting he was full of it!
He told me that the nurse had told the group how important it was to be wearing spf every day of the year!
