How long should you leave between nail appointments? 💅🏼

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer! How long your nails last depends on lots of different factors, which is why one person’s set may still look perfect after 4 weeks while another needs an infill after 2-3 weeks.

💅🏼 Lifestyle – Do you have a hands-on job? Do lots of cleaning, gardening, childcare or go to the gym regularly? The more your hands are used, the more wear and tear your nails will experience.

💅🏼 Aftercare – Are you picking, biting or nibbling your nails? Using them to open cans, peel labels or scrape things? Your nails aren’t tools, and using them that way can lead to lifting, cracks and breakages.

💅🏼 Length & Shape – Nails that are too long for your natural nail bed or daily lifestyle are more likely to snap, lift or catch. Choosing a practical length and shape can make a huge difference to longevity.

💅🏼 Natural Nail Growth – Everyone’s nails grow at different speeds. Faster-growing nails will need maintenance sooner, even if the product is still intact.

💅🏼 Your Natural Nails – Some people naturally have stronger, drier nails, while others have softer or more flexible nails. This can affect how well products adhere and how they wear over time.

💅🏼 Application & Maintenance – Keeping regular appointments helps maintain the strength and balance of your nails. Leaving them too long between appointments can increase the risk of lifting, breaks and damage.

💅🏼 Health & Hormones – Hormonal changes, stress, pregnancy, menopause, certain medications and some medical conditions can all affect your natural nails and how well products last.

💅🏼 Water & Chemicals – Frequent exposure to water, cleaning products and harsh chemicals can weaken the bond between the product and your natural nail. Wearing gloves for cleaning and washing up can really help.

💅🏼 Accidents Happen – Sometimes you can do everything right and still catch a nail or knock it unexpectedly. That’s just life!

Remember, everyone is different. Comparing your nails to someone else’s isn’t always fair because your lifestyle, nail growth and natural nails are unique. I’ll always recommend an appointment schedule that’s best suited to you and your nails. 💕

Just a polite reminder,

If you cancel your appointment with less than 48hrs notice a £10 cancellation fee will apply. If value of app is £40 or over it is 50% of the value.

There is always a valid reason for people to cancel no one ever cancels because they can make it … but the fee still applies other than if it is a bereavement.

It’s actually shocking how many cancellations I’ve had where people have not paid this.

The policy isn’t there because I’m greedy. It’s there to protect my business.
