Going darker from blonde can be a process ✨

This transformation normally takes multiple appointments depending on the condition of the hair to begin with. Porous, heavily bleached blonde hair tends to grab colour quickly but can also fade just as fast, which is why a few applications are often needed for the pigment to properly hold.

As you can see, the previous colour had faded unevenly where the old blonde was sitting. This appointment we refreshed the roots, toned down some of the warmth, and added a little warmth back into the ends to create a softer, more seamless blend overall while still achieving an ashy result 🤍

For this colour transformation I used Wella colour, which is amazing for creating rich, glossy tones while still keeping the hair looking healthy and dimensional. One of the biggest challenges when going darker from blonde is that you can’t just apply an ash shade straight over bleached hair — warmth needs to be added back into the hair first, otherwise the colour can turn muddy or even green.

To finish, I gave the hair a fresh cut and blow dry to remove some of the over-processed ends and help the hair look and feel healthier overall ✂️ I then styled using a few of my favourite Color Wow products for a super smooth, glossy finish while also protecting the hair from heat damage ✨

For this refresh, we kept some soft warmth through the hair to suit her style, skin tone, and personal preference. Creating a blonde that still feels bright, glossy and natural without looking too cool or over toned 🤍

Using to achieve a beautifully blended finish, we refreshed the colour, softened unwanted tones, covered stubborn greys and added subtle balayage pieces for extra dimension and movement throughout the hair.
