An oldie but a goodie!

Just 9 sessions to fully remove this unwanted Lady Gaga tattoo.

Why not get in touch if you have unwanted ink?

Don’t be put off by videos you see on YouTube which can look pretty horrific!

While the treatment is a little uncomfortable, it’s bearable. Most people describe the sensation as similar to the spit of hot fat or the flick of an elastic band. I will do what I can to minimise the discomfort by cooling the skin before and after treatment, and during if required.

A numbing cream can be used, but the majority of clients can tolerate the treatment with just cooling.

If you’d like to discuss tattoo removal, why not give me a call.

This is the most frequently asked question regarding tattoo removal. Typically, we say 4-6 sessions for an amateur tattoo and 8-12 for a professional tattoo. However, there are a lot of factors that have an influence on the process.

- How old is the tattoo
- How deep is the ink
- What colour is the ink
- What type of ink was used
- Placement of the tattoo on the body
- Do you smoke
- Do you exercise
- Do you drink plenty of water

You can see from the attached pictures that there are varying results, so we can only give you guidelines, everyone’s body reacts differently.

A full consultation is carried out before we begin treatment, this is to discuss all of the above and to get a treatment plan in place with realistic expectations.

If you’d like to arrange a free of charge, no obligation consultation, or if you have any questions about tattoo removal, call Helen on 07960 587519

I’m having radiotherapy this week, 5 sessions 3rd to 7th August.

This is just in case there are any rogue cells still lingering and it will apparently take my chance of recurrence down from 20% to 3% 🙌

I’m not sure how I’m going to feel, so I’ve decided to close the clinic so that I won’t need to cancel your appointments at the last minute if I’m not feeling great.

I will be resting up but I will be answering enquiries, so do get in touch if you’d like to book in or if you have any questions.

A pinch and a punch…

Do you have lovely plans for August?

It’s a mixed one here, I’m starting radiotherapy on Monday, but we also have a lovely holiday planned for the end of the month.

There are still some appointments available and products such as Lynton Light Protect, Lynton Light Soothe and HYPO21 are always in stock.

Whatever you have planned, have a good one.

I’m always telling you to keep your treatment area out of the sun, and I will turn you away if you come into the clinic with a tan. I will always ask you to stay out of the sun for at least 2 weeks after your session and leave 4 weeks after sun exposure before your next session.

Here’s why:

- If you are tanned before treatment, the laser may detect more pigment in the surrounding skin rather than focusing on the intended target. That can increase the risk of overheating, burns or blisters.

- There is a greater risk of pigment changes, dark or light patches which can last for months and be difficult to treat.

- Skin treated with laser can be red, swollen and sensitive, sun exposure can worsen inflammation and discomfort.

Sunbeds and self tans will cause the skin to react in exactly the same way as a real tan. And a ‘bit of a tan’ or a tan that’s ’only from Wales or the garden’ is still a tan and will mean that I will not treat you.

Have a look at the 2nd pic to see a great example of one of my clients who uses the sun beds but still wishes to continue with her tattoo removal.

The safe treatment of your skin is paramount, so if you feel you’ve had sun exposure, just let me know and we’ll move your treatment.

I’m often asked what is the best area to begin laser hair removal.
Unless you’re suffering with ingrowers or shaving rash in a particular area, I would always recommend underarms.
While a course of treatments is required, you can often see results after just a few treatments, as you can see here after just 4.
If you’ve been fed up of shaving your underarms this Summer, why not consider starting your hair removal journey now, and by next Christmas you’ll be popping on your strappy tops without even giving your underarms a second thought!

Why not give me a call if you’d like to discuss?

Facial hair removal continues to be one of my most popular treatments.

There are several benefits of laser hair removal on the face, improved confidence being the outstanding one.

It also helps reduce ingrown hairs and skin irritation caused by shaving, waxing, plucking and/or constantly touching the face.

Over time your skin will become smoother and you will notice a more even skin tone.

As you can see here, after only 4 sessions, not only is there significant reduction in hair, but the skin is looking so much clearer and smoother!

If this is something you’d like to discuss, call Helen in 07960 587519 😊
