Summer evenings at the beach after a hot day in the studio.

There’s a reason handpoke and lino printmaking feel like the same language to me.

Both start with a single line, carved slow and deliberate. There’s no smoothing it out. Every wobble in a hand-carved line is a decision, not a mistake, the same wobble that makes a poke tattoo look alive instead of printed.

And then there’s the space around the line. In lino, what you don’t cut away matters as much as what you do , the negative space holds the shape just as much as the ink does. Handpoke works the same way: skin is the negative space, breathing room for the mark to sit in rather than fight against.

Nothing rushed, nothing perfectly straight. Just a steady hand, a slow line, and space to let it exist.

We have puppies! 🐶✨ That’s my excuse for the last few days of radio silence, Roxy went into labour and gave me an unforgettable (sleepless) 36 hours. Everyone’s happy and healthy, and I’m back at the studio now, fully focused and ready for your appointments. Thank you for your patience, it means a lot.

I’ve been spinning a few more plates and dropping a few balls lately, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise.

My dog is due any day now, and it turns out you can’t run a studio, mum and be a full-time doggie doula without something giving. If I’ve bumped your appointment last minute, been slower to reply, or just bored you with my whelping worries, I’m sorry. It hasn’t felt good from my end either, rescheduling on people who trusted me with their time.

But thank you. Genuinely. For being understanding, for sticking with me, for not making me feel worse than I already did about it. That kind of grace doesn’t go unnoticed.

Normal service (and my sanity) will resume shortly. In the meantime, send good vibes. We both need them.
