Back from holiday and straight back into the routine… although judging by the amount of cursing in this one, I'm clearly still mentally on the beach. 😂☀️
A quick morning beard routine, getting everything sorted and putting the Big Phat Beard products to work.
Oil. Brush. Shape. Sorted. 👊🧔🏻♂️
Different angle today, a bit more chaotic, a bit more honest and definitely a few more swear words than usual. 😂
Because looking after your beard doesn't need to be complicated… even when you're still pi**ed off that the holiday's over. 🤣
People always ask who my most difficult client is...
It's him. 😂
Theo decided today was haircut day, and what should have been a quick trim somehow turned into a 45-minute appointment thanks to all the laughing, fidgeting, negotiations and messing about.
Would I change it? Not a chance.
Being able to cut my own son's hair is something I'll never take for granted. It's one of those little things that means more than people realise.
One day he'll probably be too cool for Dad to cut it... but until then, I'll happily put up with the chaos. 💙✂️

One of the lads broke down, so naturally the Big Phat Beard van got the call. Safe to say we don't just rescue beards anymore... apparently we're rescuing cars too. 😂
On a serious note, it's been another cracking week in the shop. Thank you to every single person who booked in, picked up beard products, liked, shared or recommended the business. Your support never goes unnoticed.
Now it's time to switch off, enjoy the weekend and get ready to do it all again next week.
(Recovery service may only be available to mates... and payment is usually a coffee. 😉)

🚨 New Team Member on Trial 🚨
Meet Maverick... 🐾
After weeks of emotional blackmail, following me everywhere and giving me those "you're really leaving without me?" eyes... I finally caved and brought him into the shop for his very first shift. 😂
His performance review so far:
🐶 Greeted every customer.
🐶 Boosted team morale.
🐶 Slept through most of the day.
🐶 Happily accepted treats as payment.
Not a bad first day, to be fair.
The shop has always been a place where people come for a haircut, a beard trim, a chat and a laugh. Today, it also had a four-legged apprentice keeping everyone company.
I think he might just fit in with the team... ❤️

Today it was just a fresh skin fade, a tidy beard line-up and nothing off the top... the beard's getting looked after and the hair is staying put while I grow it out.
Having a barber you trust is priceless, and I'm lucky enough to have one working alongside me every day.

If you'd told me a few years ago that one day I'd be parking one of my dream bikes inside my own barbershop, I'd probably have laughed.
For years I've worked towards building a business I'm proud of. A barbershop that feels like home, a beard care brand that started as an idea, and a life where hard work creates opportunities.
Today I got to park one of my dream bikes right in the middle of my shop.
It's more than just a motorbike to me.
It's a reminder that if you're willing to keep showing up, keep learning and keep putting the work in, goals eventually become reality.
None of it would have been possible without the support of my incredible wife, Danielle. Through every idea, every challenge and every milestone, she's been beside me the whole way.
Work hard. Stay humble. Celebrate the wins. Then get back to work.
Now... who's calling in for a haircut and arriving on two wheels? 🏍️💈
Seven months.
That's how long it had been since Johnny was last in the chair.
The last time I saw him was December 2025, and in that time he'd committed to growing his beard...
Safe to say, he absolutely smashed it. 🧔
We had plenty to catch up on while getting everything shaped back up, and that's one of the things I love most about this job.
It's never just about the haircut or beard trim.
It's about the conversations, the catch-ups and seeing familiar faces walk back through the door, no matter how much time has passed.
Johnny... don't leave it another seven months next time! 😂
