Last night, Katrina had the privilege of attending the Behind the Smile training delivered by Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, Women’s aid, Assist NI and the PSNI.

As beauty professionals, we know our role goes far beyond treatments. We often become a listening ear, a friendly face, and a place where our clients feel comfortable and safe.

This training has given me the knowledge and confidence to recognise some of the signs that someone may be experiencing domestic abuse and how to respond in a safe, supportive, and appropriate way.

Our salon will always be a space where everyone is treated with kindness, respect, and without judgement. While we can’t solve every problem, We can offer a safe environment, listen, and help point people towards the right support if they need it.

Beauty is about making people feel good on the outside, but caring for their wellbeing is just as important.
