The power of something so simple ✨
This mama achieved her Homebirth After Caesarean with her Yuula Comb firmly in hand 🤍
The Yuula Comb is designed to stimulate the Lao Gong acupressure point in the palm. The strong sensation can also help your body release its own natural pain-relieving endorphins, while giving the nervous system another sensation to focus on through the gate control theory of pain, a similar principle to TENS.
And one of my favourite things about it? It can go anywhere with you. At home, in hospital, walking around, in the shower or even in the birth pool 💧
Simple. Portable. No batteries, no wires, no set-up. Just there in your hand when you need it.
Available from and our lovely stockists ✨
When you’re 6cm dilated, have been in labour for hours and you know that you got yourself into this, and only you can get yourself out 😂
But the truth is, when you start thinking things like this, that’s when you know you are really doing it 😉🙌
We love nesting for baby’s room, but somewhere in all that planning, the space where you’ll actually labour and birth often gets forgotten.
Fairy lights instead of fluorescent lights. Something to ease the pain, like Aura Orbs®. A pool, if that’s your thing. Whatever makes you feel calm and held. This is preparation too, and it deserves the same care as the nursery does.
Tag someone who’s nesting right now (for baby
and for birth)✨

When a contraction builds, sometimes you need somewhere to put all that intensity.
Our award winning Aura Orbs give your hands something purposeful to grip and squeeze, providing a strong sensory focus while you breathe, move and work with your body through each contraction.
Small enough for your birth bag. Simple enough to use instinctively. Designed for the moments when you need something tangible to hold onto.
✨ Yuula Aura Orbs, support you can hold.
Your mindset matters in birth more than you might realise 🤍
When so much of what we hear about birth centres around fear, pain and what could go wrong, intentionally surrounding yourself with positive, reassuring language can help change the story playing in your own head.
✨That’s exactly why we created our Yuula Affirmation Cards✨
Keep them somewhere you’ll see them throughout pregnancy, pack them in your birth bag, or place them around your birth space as a reminder of everything your body is capable of when doubt starts creeping in.
You can’t control every part of birth, but you can be intentional about the mindset you bring into it.
A little card with a powerful reminder that leads to a more positive way to prepare for birth.

The pushing part isn’t necessarily about someone shouting “PUSH!” while you hold your breath and count to ten.
Your position, hydration, bladder, pelvic floor and the way you respond to your body’s sensations can all play a part in the second stage of labour.
Save these tips for your birth prep and send them to your birth partner too, because they’re the one who’ll need to remember where you saved them.
Pregnancy can suddenly feel like a very noisy place to be.
Everyone has an opinion. Social media is full of stories, warnings and endless lists of things you should and shouldn’t be doing. And sometimes the information designed to “prepare” you actually leaves you feeling more frightened than informed.
I believe you deserve better than that.
You deserve honest, evidence based information that helps you understand what’s happening, explore your options and feel confident making the choices that are right for you.
You deserve practical tools that actually support you through pregnancy and birth.
And you deserve information that doesn’t pretend birth is completely predictable, but helps you feel more prepared for however your story unfolds.
That’s why I created Yuula.
Real information, practical support and thoughtfully designed tools, all brought together by a real midwife who genuinely believes that how you feel about your birth matters.
If that sounds like the kind of pregnancy and birth space you’ve been looking for, you’re in the right place 🤍

Pregnancy doesn’t happen one appointment at a time.
The questions come in between. When you’re doing the food shop, lying awake thinking about something mentioned at your appointment, or wondering what a recommendation actually means for you and your baby.
Your NHS midwife is there to provide your maternity care, but appointments are busy and true continuity can be difficult to achieve. You may see different midwives throughout pregnancy, without always having the time to really explore your questions, choices and preferences.
That’s a huge part of why I created Text the Midwife.
Think of it as having Midwife Lily in your corner throughout your pregnancy. The same midwife getting to know you, your story, what matters to you and the birth you’re preparing for.
A space to ask questions, understand the evidence behind recommendations, explore your options and feel more confident making informed choices about your care.
Because there is real value in continuity. In not having to start from the beginning every time. In having someone who already knows your story.
One woman described the support as “invaluable to my pregnancy experience”, which is exactly what I wanted this service to be.
Text the Midwife is unlimited one to one WhatsApp support with me, Midwife Lily, from as early as 8 weeks, plus a one hour birth planning video call at 36 weeks.
Calm. Evidence based. Individualised.
A midwife in your corner, throughout your pregnancy.

A birth plan is not about trying to control every part of birth. It is about understanding your options, knowing what matters to you and feeling confident enough to make informed choices if plans need to change 🤍
When you understand the benefits, risks and alternatives around different interventions, you are better equipped to have meaningful conversations with your birth team and make decisions that feel right for you and your baby.
So, what should you include in a birth plan?
✨Your birth preferences
Think about your environment, movement and positions, monitoring, examinations, pain relief, interventions, who you want with you and your preferences immediately after birth.
✨Your questions
Ask what is being recommended, why it is being recommended, what the benefits and risks are, what the alternatives are and what may happen if you choose to wait.
✨Your coping toolkit
Birth can be intense, so consider the tools you want available before you need them. Breathing techniques, movement, massage, water, music, counter pressure and sensory distraction can all have a place.
This is where Aura Orbs can become part of your toolkit. Using sensory input and focused pressure as a distraction gives your brain something else to process alongside contractions, offering a simple, drug free coping option you can reach for whenever you need it.
✨Your Plan B and C
A good birth plan is not rigid. Consider what you would want if induction, assisted birth or a caesarean became recommended. Being informed about those possibilities beforehand can make unexpected decisions feel less overwhelming in the moment.
Most importantly, talk through your birth plan with your midwife or birth team before labour. A birth plan works best when it starts a conversation rather than simply sitting in your hospital bag.
You might not be able to plan exactly how your birth unfolds, but you can prepare yourself with knowledge, questions and coping tools.
Save this for when you start writing yours and send it to an expecting mama who needs the reminder that your preferences deserve to be discussed.

Thank you Bryony for letting us share your beautiful birth story 🤍
“I listened to my body and responded and we did it!”
We absolutely love hearing how the products we create become part of your birth stories.
As Bryony’s labour became more intense, she reached for her Yuula Aura Orbs, squeezing them through each contraction while focusing on her breathing and being supported by her husband and midwife.
She also had her Birth Affirmation Cards on display in the room, helping her create a calm and positive space to birth in.
Before she even had chance to get into the birth pool, Bryony’s body told her it was time to push and just a handful of pushes later, her baby boy was here 🤍
Our Aura Orbs were created to give you something to squeeze, hold and focus on during labour, helping you stay grounded when contractions become more intense.
Knowing they were there with Bryony during such a special moment is exactly why we do what we do 🥹
