3 Common Mistakes People Make When Trying to Improve Their Health

So many people try to improve their health, but unknowingly work against their body rather than with it.

Here are three common mistakes I see:

1️⃣ Ignoring emotional stress
Many people focus only on food, exercise, or sleep, but overlook the emotional load they are carrying. Stress, worry, and unresolved emotions can show up in the body as tension, fatigue, headaches, digestive issues and more.

2️⃣ Pushing through exhaustion
We live in a world that praises being busy. But constantly pushing through when your body is asking for rest can keep your nervous system in a state of overwhelm.

3️⃣ Trying to “fix” the body without listening to it
Symptoms are often the body’s way of communicating. When we only try to silence the symptom without understanding the message, the root cause is still there.

Your body isn’t working against you.
It’s always trying to communicate with you.

Sometimes the real healing begins when we start listening to what our body has been holding onto emotionally.

✨ What is one thing your body has been asking for lately?

Hot Stone Massage

This is one of those treatments that leaves you feeling completely relaxed and possibly a little 'fuzzy'.

Starting with an indulgent back massage. The warmed basalt stones work to create a deep sense of relaxation, by carrying heat through your back and working on releasing tensions from your muscles and eliminating metabolic waste.

Warmed basalt stones stimulate your circulation and encourage your lymphatic system.

As Autumn enters relax into a warm and comforting massage.

Reflexology….

You may have heard of Reflexology or seen some crazy looking charts with internal organs drawn all over the feet and hands, thinking “what’s that all about?” Well, let me explain…

THE ORIGINS OF REFLEXOLOGY

The origins of reflexology can be traced back around 5000 years to Egypt and China. Hieroglyphics found in a pyramid in Egypt dating back to 2330 BC show reflexology as part of Egyptian culture at that time.

By the end of the 14th century a version now known as “reflex zone therapy” was being used throughout Europe.

Modern reflexology developed in the early 20th century largely due to the works of Dr William Fitzgerald and physiotherapist Eunice Ingham, who are considered the father and mother of reflexology.

Their works greatly increased understanding of how reflexology works. They built on the theory of zone therapy by mapping the entire body into “reflexes” on the feet leading to the first reflexology foot chart.

🦶 Reflexology - £45 (60mins)

Reflexology is an incredibly effective, non-medicinal means of helping the body heal itself. Even at its most basic level, foot reflexology is a soothing experience that can assist in alleviating stress.

This treatment is safe, gentle, and relaxing and will help you achieve a sense of well-being.

We begin this gorgeous ancient art of reflexology by applying pressure to your feet and working on the reflex points corresponding to different parts of your body.

We then finish this treatment with a relaxing lower leg and foot massage.
