Another professional step forward 🤍
For quite a long time, I was thinking about whether I wanted to become a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
I already had my qualifications, professional experience and insurance, so for me it wasn’t simply about adding another logo or certificate to the wall.
But the longer I work in the UK, the more I understand how important it is to continue building my practice within recognised professional standards.
So I’m very happy to share that I am now officially a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). ✨
For me, this is another step in developing Viktoriia Massage professionally — being part of a recognised professional association, following its standards of practice and continuing to develop my knowledge and skills.
It also means that clients can find and verify me through the FHT Therapist Register, which gives another level of transparency when choosing their therapist.
And for some clients, there may be an additional practical benefit: depending on your employer or individual health cash plan, you may be able to claim back some of the cost of eligible treatments. Always check the conditions of your own plan before booking.
I’m proud of how much my practice has grown, but I’m even more excited about where it is going next.
Professional standards. Continued learning. And care you can trust. 🤍

What actually happens when your muscles get tired? 💪
Muscle fatigue is more interesting than simply “running out of energy”.
During exercise, your muscles need a constant supply of energy to keep contracting. As the intensity increases, the body has to produce that energy faster. Metabolites accumulate, the balance of ions involved in muscle contraction changes, and the nervous system also begins to reduce how strongly it can drive the working muscles.
That familiar feeling of heavy, tired or burning muscles is therefore not caused by one single thing — and it isn’t simply “lactic acid sitting in the muscles”.
So where does Sports Massage fit in?
Sports Massage is targeted work adapted to how your body is being used. Depending on what I find, a session may focus on overloaded muscle groups, areas of persistent tension, mobility or recovery between periods of training.
And you certainly don’t have to be a professional athlete to benefit from it.
It can be suitable if you:
• train regularly at the gym
• run, cycle or play sport
• have a physically demanding job
• repeatedly load the same muscle groups
• feel tight or restricted after training
• want massage to be part of your recovery routine
Sports Massage also doesn’t mean simply pressing harder.
Good Sports Massage is about understanding which tissues need attention, choosing the right techniques and adapting the treatment to the person in front of you.
Your muscles work hard for you.
Sometimes they need intelligent recovery too. 🤍

What should you do after a massage? 🤍
What you do after your treatment can help your body settle and make the most of your massage.
Drink a little more water 💧
There is no need to drink litres. An extra glass or two during the day is enough. Staying well hydrated supports normal body function and is especially important if you are planning to use a sauna or steam room.
Should you go to the gym after a massage?
I recommend skipping the gym on the day of your massage, especially after Sports or Deep Tissue work. Give your muscles some time to rest rather than immediately putting them under another heavy load.
Instead, take a gentle walk. Light movement is a lovely way to keep the body moving without turning your recovery day into another workout.
What about a sauna or steam room? 🌿
If you have no contraindications and you normally tolerate heat well, a gentle sauna or steam room can be a relaxing addition to your day. Alternatively, have a warm bath at home — you can add Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) and simply allow your body to relax.
Is it normal to feel a little sore afterwards?
Yes. After deeper or more targeted work, mild tenderness or sensitivity can happen. It may feel similar to the sensation after exercise and should normally settle within a day or two.
If the pain is strong, unusual, getting worse or doesn’t settle, contact your therapist.
So after your massage, keep it simple:
A little more water. A gentle walk. Warmth. Rest. And no hard workout. 🤍

We take care of our skin. But what about everything underneath it? ✨
Creams, serums and skincare are already part of everyday life for many of us. But our face is not only skin.
Underneath are muscles and soft tissues that work every day — when we talk, smile, concentrate, clench our jaw or simply react to stress.
This is where facial massage can become a beautiful part of regular self-care.
It helps release muscular tension, supports circulation, can help with temporary puffiness and leaves the face feeling rested and refreshed. And if you are beginning to notice the first fine lines, it may be the perfect time to make professional facial massage part of your routine rather than waiting for bigger changes.
And this has nothing to do with gender. Men’s faces hold tension too. Facial massage can be equally enjoyable and beneficial for both men and women.
It can also be added to a body massage to create a more complete treatment — body, neck, scalp and face.
Because sometimes looking refreshed starts not with adding another product, but with giving the face a chance to release and relax. 🤍

Deep Tissue, Sports or Relaxing Massage — which one should you choose? 🤔
Choosing a massage shouldn’t be about which one sounds “stronger”. It should depend on what your body needs right now.
Deep Tissue Massage
Choose this when you have persistent muscle tension, tight or overloaded areas, reduced mobility or specific areas that feel like they need deeper work. The pressure is adapted to your body — deep doesn’t mean unnecessarily painful.
Sports Massage
Not only for athletes. It can be a good choice if you train regularly, have physically demanding work, feel muscular overload or want to support recovery and movement. Techniques can be more targeted and may focus on particular muscle groups rather than simply relaxation.
Relaxing Massage
Choose this when your main goal is to slow down, reduce general muscle tension and give your body time to relax. Perfect when you feel tired, stressed or simply need to switch off.
And sometimes the best treatment is a combination.
A good therapist should assess how your body feels on the day and adapt the techniques, pressure and areas of focus accordingly.
You don’t always need the strongest massage.
You need the right massage for your body. 🤍

What if one pair of hands simply isn’t enough? ✨
Sometimes you want more than just a regular massage. You want to try something new and special.
Four Hands Massage is performed by two therapists working together at the same time. Four hands move across the body, combining different massage techniques and creating a completely different feeling from a traditional massage.
Because your body receives touch in different areas at the same time, it becomes easier to stop thinking about every movement, switch off and simply relax.
It can feel deeper, more relaxing and incredibly enjoyable — especially if you already love massage and would like to experience it in a completely new way.
Perfect for anyone looking for something different, a special treat or simply a new massage experience. 🤍
Four hands. Two therapists. One special experience.

Every journey has its own path. 🤍
There are so many changes in life. Different people, different decisions, unexpected turns — and somehow, all of them bring us to where we are today.
Sometimes life moves so quickly that we forget to stop for a moment and appreciate how far we have already come.
When I look at my work today, what I feel most is gratitude.
I’m incredibly grateful to every person who has trusted me with their body, their recovery and their wellbeing. Every client has given me something valuable — experience, knowledge and the opportunity to grow as a therapist.
One of the things I love most about my profession is how different every person and every treatment can be.
I work with people recovering after injuries and operations, clients with back problems and disc protrusions, pregnant women, and people who simply need to slow down, relax and release the tension of everyday life. I also love the completely different side of my work — facial massage and treatments focused on wellbeing and aesthetics.
And behind every treatment there is a person who has trusted me.
That is something I never want to take for granted.
Today I have many hopes and plans for the next stage of my career. I hope to build a team of people who share my approach to massage, and I’m especially excited about training new therapists and, one day, introducing you to my students — therapists I can confidently recommend and trust to provide the same level of care I expect from myself.
There is still so much I want to create and achieve.
But sometimes it is important not only to look ahead.
Sometimes you need to stop, look back at the long and not always easy road behind you, and simply say:
I’m grateful for where I am today. And I’m excited for where this journey will take me next. 🤍
Thank you to everyone who has been part of it.
