6 WEEKS POST-SEVERE ANKLE SPRAIN ➡️ CLEARED TO RUN 🏃♂️⚽️
Been great working with Liam through his rehab after a nasty medial + lateral sprain of his left ankle.
After being told he had “glass ankles” following repeated ankle problems playing football, Liam wanted more than just another few weeks of rest — he wanted to understand why it kept happening and build his ankle back properly.
And he’s grafted. 👏
Over the last 6 weeks, Liam has completed 3 rehab sessions per week, focusing on:
⚡️ Ankle strength & capacity
⚡️ Mobility
⚡️ Balance & proprioception
⚡️ Dynamic stability
⚡️ Plyometrics & force acceptance
⚡️ Confidence under sporting loads
He’s now successfully cleared for running and progressive return to sporting activity. ✅
Next step ➡️ a structured return-to-play progression before getting him back into full-contact football.
The goal isn’t just getting rid of pain.
It’s building an ankle that can handle football again — and reducing the risk of the same problem happening again. 💪⚽️

4 YEARS OF SHOULDER PAIN → BACK TRAINING 💪⭐️
When Jonathan first came to Forge, he’d struggled with shoulder pain for around 4 years.
It was affecting his physical warehouse job and had stopped him training upper body. Alongside this, bilateral elbow pain made most upper-body movements uncomfortable.
Instead of simply treating the painful areas, we took a progressive rehab + strength approach — 2 coached sessions per week alongside individual programming through Everfit.
The progress 📊
Shoulder Flexion
36.2N → 85.9N (+137%)
Shoulder Abduction
44.0N → 79.6N (+81%)
Abduction symmetry: ~70% → essentially equal between sides.
But the numbers aren’t the biggest wins.
My biggest wins as his rehabber & coach 👇
1️⃣ Proving to Jonathan that he CAN train — we just needed to find the right movements and progressively build his capacity.
2️⃣ Giving him the confidence to train upper body independently again after 4 years away.
3️⃣ Huge improvements in his strength, movement quality, physique and overall upper-body capacity.
4️⃣ Going from significant strength deficits to hitting PBs across his testing and gym lifts.
5️⃣ Most importantly — now reporting little to no shoulder or elbow pain while consistently training again.
Next step ➡️ higher-speed loading, upper-body plyometrics and continuing towards unrestricted training.
Rehab isn’t just about getting out of pain. It’s about rebuilding the strength, capacity and confidence to do what you love. ⚒️
Assess. Rebuild. Perform.
Rolled your ankle? 🦶
Here’s how we assess it at Forge 👇
An ankle assessment should involve more than just finding where it hurts.
We look at:
🔎 Injury mechanism & history
🦶 Swelling, bruising & tenderness
📐 Ankle range of movement
🧪 Relevant ligament & clinical testing
💪 Strength & side-to-side differences
⚖️ Balance & ankle control
🏃 Functional testing when appropriate
From there, we can identify what needs improving and build a progressive rehab plan around your injury and the demands you need to return to.
The goal isn’t just getting the pain down — it’s rebuilding confidence, strength and function in the ankle.

Running a sports injury business at 23 isn’t easy.
I absolutely love what I do, but building Forge while treating clients, managing a team and trying to grow a business takes a lot of time and energy.
These are the things that keep me grounded and give me the energy to keep pushing towards the dream:
1️⃣ Spending time with family & friends — remembering there’s a life outside of work.
2️⃣ Making time to just be Theo — not always the clinician or business owner.
3️⃣ Seeing clients progress — whether that’s returning from an injury, getting stronger or simply getting back to doing what they love. This will always be one of the best parts of the job.
4️⃣ Training & chasing my own fitness goals — practising what I preach and making my own health a priority.
5️⃣ Accepting that I don’t need to be perfect 100% of the time — meals out, nights out, holidays and rest days are part of life too.
Still learning, still building and definitely still making mistakes along the way.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support me and Forge. 🧡
We keep pushing, keep improving and keep helping people get back to doing what they love. 💪

413 miles doesn’t start on Day 1.
It starts months before The Azaylia Foundation 🧡
Great catching up with Joe Hughes Coaching 🌍📈 and talking through the 16 weeks of preparation that went into getting his body ready for an incredible 413-mile charity challenge.
When you’re asking your body to cover that kind of distance, preparation is everything.
Building strength, managing training load, staying on top of recovery and dealing with the inevitable aches and niggles along the way.
At Forge, we’ve been proud to play a small part in supporting Joe throughout his preparation with sports massage, recovery and injury management.
All for an incredible cause, raising awareness and support for childhood cancer. 🧡
16 weeks of work.
413 miles ahead.
One massive challenge.
Go smash it Joe 👏

Recurring ankle sprains?
It’s time to stop treating the same injury over and over. 🦶
After dealing with long-term ankle pain and repeated sprains, Liam came down to Forge Injury & Performance looking for a long-term solution.
Our focus wasn’t just getting him pain-free, it was building an ankle that could handle the demands of sport again.
✅ Restore ankle mobility
✅ Rebuild strength & control
✅ Improve balance & dynamic stability
✅ Progress into plyometrics & force acceptance
✅ Reduce the risk of another recurring sprain
Now we’re progressing towards return to sport, making sure the ankle isn’t just feeling better — it’s performing better.
