You may have seen the recent coverage around body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and cosmetic procedures, following new draft NICE guidance recommending that people seeking cosmetic treatments are assessed for possible signs of BDD.

This is something I take incredibly seriously.

My approach at AB Glo Collective has always been about natural results, realistic expectations and enhancing what you already have — never making you feel as though you need to change who you are.

Going forward, my consultations for dermal filler and anti-wrinkle treatments will include some simple, respectful screening questions around body image, expectations and the reasons you're seeking treatment.

This will never be about judging, labelling or embarrassing anyone. These conversations will always be handled sensitively, respectfully and confidentially. 🤍

And sometimes my professional advice may be “no” or “not yet.”

That doesn't mean I don't want to treat you. It means I care enough about your wellbeing to recognise when a treatment may not be in your best interests at that time.

If I have concerns that someone may need additional support, I would much rather pause treatment and encourage them to seek the appropriate help than perform a procedure that could potentially make those feelings worse.

Aesthetics should help you feel like the best version of you — not create new insecurities or encourage you to chase an unrealistic ideal.
