WHAT DOES PMOS ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE? 🎬 Pt 4
Because I cant say a sxxt 💩 show online... Here is what PMOS may or may not look like 🤡
PMOS~just like PCOS~doesn't discriminate
We've talked about why the name PCOS is being questioned. ✔️
We've talked about the people who helped drive that conversation forward. ✔️
But what does this actually mean for someone living with it?
The truth is…
PMOS doesn't have one “look”. It alters.
✋️Im Currently 1.5weeks into a endocrine flare up & experiencing symptoms🤚
It can mean irregular or absent periods.
Unwanted hair growth.
Male balding pattern.
Acne or hair loss. ✋️🤚
Difficulty with weight or metabolic health.✋️
Fatigue. ✋️🤚
Brain fog. ✋️ 🤚
Mood changes.✋️🤚
Fertility difficulties.
Constant bleeding.
Sevral missed periods.
And so much more......
But here's the part I think we sometimes forget…
😔 You don't have to have every symptom to be affected by this condition.
😫 And you don't have to look unwell for your experience to be real.
📅 One person may spend years dealing with their periods.
🪒 Another may struggle with excess hair.
🥀 Another with fertility.
⚖️ Another with metabolic symptoms.
And another may quietly live with a combination of symptoms that nobody ever thinks to put together. 🤔 💭
That's why language matters.
Because when we reduce PCOS to periods, ovaries, weight or fertility, we can lose sight of the whole person living with it.
And perhaps that's one of the most important things I've taken away from researching this subject…
There isn't one face of PMOS.
There isn't one body.
There isn't one experience.
And there certainly isn't one way it should be treated or understood.
Do you know / recommend any PCOS/PMOS practitioners, particularly in South Wales? Private or NHS, If yes, please comment below or dm so incan share with others 🫂

🎬 WHO ACTUALLY FOUGHT FOR THE CHANGE?
Last time, i mentioned about why PCOS needed a new name.
But PMOS didn't happen overnight.
It was a 14-year international journey involving researchers, healthcare professionals, patient organisations, and — importantly — people living with the condition. 💜
More than 22,000 survey responses were collected, alongside international workshops, with 56 patient and professional organisations involved.
So why was change needed?
Because “Polycystic O***y Syndrome” can create a misleading picture.
🥚 Ovaries
⭕ Cysts
But PMOS is much bigger than that.
The change aims to better reflect the endocrine, metabolic, and ovarian aspects of the condition — while reducing misunderstanding and stigma.
Perhaps the biggest issue wasn't just the name.
It was how many women have spent years being misunderstood:
“Just lose weight.”
“Your periods will sort themselves out.”
“It’s just PCOS.”
Meanwhile, symptoms such as unwanted hair, acne, weight changes, and fertility difficulties can have a huge impact on someone's life.
Changing a name doesn't change the condition.
But language shapes understanding.
If we see it only as an “ovary problem”, we can miss the bigger picture.
PMOS encourages us to look at the whole picture.
Not just weight.
Not just fertility.
Not just periods.
Not just ovaries.
THE WHOLE WOMAN. 💜
The new name was announced on 12 May 2026, with a three-year transition period and full implementation planned for the 2028 International Guideline update.
So if you still say PCOS, don't worry.
We're all learning.
PCOS → PMOS
A change in language.
Hopefully, a change in understanding too. 💜

WHY PMOS? 🧬
Last time, we talked about the big change:
PCOS now has a new name — PMOS.
But why?
Because PCOS has never been “just” about the ovaries.
The endocrine system is your body’s hormone communication network, influencing things like your periods, ovulation, insulin & blood sugar, metabolism, energy, hair, skin, fertility and thyroid function.
So when hormones are disrupted, the effects can be felt far beyond your ovaries.
It can mean:
🩸 Irregular or absent periods
🪒 Unwanted facial/body hair
💇♀️ Hair thinning
🧴 Acne & skin changes
⚖️ Weight & metabolic changes
🍬 Insulin resistance
🥚 Ovulation & fertility difficulties
💭 And sometimes… a complicated relationship with your own body.
That’s why the name matters.
PMOS aims to reflect the bigger picture women have been living with for years — helping us recognise the hormonal, metabolic AND ovarian aspects of the condition.
And this is exactly why I’m talking about it here.
Because I wax women whose hormones can affect their hair, skin, confidence and relationship with their bodies.
I hear things like:
“I hate my chin hair.”
“I feel so much hairier than I used to.”
“I’m embarrassed by how much hair I have.”
And sometimes, the hardest part isn’t the hair.
It’s how the hair makes you feel.
If you’ve ever looked at your body and thought,
“Why is my body doing this?”
You are not alone. 💜
And if you love someone with PMOS, hopefully this series helps you understand that there can be so much happening beneath the surface that you can’t see.
So now we know WHY the name changed.
Next…
WHAT DOES PMOS ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE? 👀
Because there is no single “PMOS woman” — and some of the symptoms might surprise you.

✨ FUN FACT THURSDAY ✨
Did you know the forget-me-not is the flower associated with World Childless Week? 🌿
It represents love, remembrance and not forgetting — which makes it such a beautiful symbol for this week. 🤍
And this little flower holds a very special place in my own heart.
My first tattoo was a forget-me-not, after we lost our first pregnancy. It was created by a very special lady, and all these years later, it still carries so much meaning for me.
So today, I'm giving her a little extra warmth too. ♡
Sometimes, a tiny flower can hold an entire story.
Forget me not. 🌿

🚨 PCOS HAS A NEW NAME & THIS IS BIG. 🚨
If you've lived with PCOS, you might have heard something new earlier this year...
And no, it isn't a rebrand.
In May 2026, Polycystic O***y Syndrome was officially renamed:
POLYENDOCRINE METABOLIC OVARIAN SYNDROME (PMOS)
But WHY?
Because the old name didn't tell the whole story.
The new name is intended to reflect the bigger picture. ✨️
And here's the bit I REALLY love… 💜
This doesn't mean everyone suddenly has to stop saying “PCOS”.
“We've called it PCOS for years… but we're entering something new.”
→ Somewhere Only We Know
→ PMOS. A new name & bigger understanding.✨
So… why PMOS?
What actually changed?
And what does this mean for those of us living with it?
That's what we're going to talk about over the next couple of weeks. 💜
Welcome to the PMOS series. 🎬

90% of my waxing is intimate waxing… but this facial wax progress deserves some recognition 👏✨️
From day one, this lovely lady has:
✔️ Followed aftercare tailored specifically to her
✔️ Stayed consistent with her waxing appointments
✔️ Protected and looked after her skin
✔️ Kept herself hydrated and nourished
And the results speak for themselves✨️
I’ve seen huge improvements in her hair regrowth, hyperpigmentation and, most importantly, her confidence. 🥹❤️
These results don’t happen overnight — they come from consistency, good aftercare and giving your skin the care it deserves.
So if you have unwanted facial hair that you’d like removed, don't think you need a huge appointment.
From as little as a 10-minute appointment, you can walk out feeling fiercely fabulous 👌✨️
Because you deserve to feel like the queen you are. 👑

🍂 MABON • AUTUMN EQUINOX 🍂
The Autumn Equinox marks the beginning of astronomical autumn — a turning point as the days begin to shorten and the season naturally starts to slow.
And after a crazy busy summer, I think I'm ready for exactly that.
Yesterday I struggled to function.
Today I thrived.
This morning I dropped Jesse at nursery, eventually made it to our local coffee shop for their famous strawberry matcha .
Then went to yoga with the wonderful Elizabeth .yoga. My body physically needed this.
Then, very gratefully i managed a mindful dog walk before nursery pick-up.
Nothing extraordinary.
But today, I had the capacity to enjoy it. I feel so grateful.
Mabon is traditionally associated with balance, gratitude, harvest and letting go.
And that's exactly what I have planned this autumn:
🤎 Peace
🍂 Balance
🌿 Slow months
🏡 Staying local
🌳 Being in nature
✨ Grounding
🤍 Returning to basics
Because life isn't always balanced — especially when your body doesn't always allow you to do what your mind wants to.
Some days you struggle.
Some days you thrive.
Both days count.
So this autumn, I'm not chasing more.
I'm craving less.
And learning to appreciate the little things when my body gives me the power.
Here's to a slower season, acknowledging the good & not so good times and living seasonally.
Happy Autumn Equinox one & all
🍂🤎

Im back from holiday and survived my 1st full day yesterday.
I really enjoyed going AWOL from socials whilst away & had a real good digital detox.
Since arriving home Thursday I’ve felt absolutely smashed, i promise I felt amazing whilst away ~ so it's probably the three flights tonget us home as im not the best traveller 🤣.
I had the best 1st day back yesterday seeing my regulars for our monthly catch ups & welcoming new clients ✨️𝓣𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓴 𝔂𝓸𝓾 ladies. 🙏
I felt like utter crap but you made me feel loads better and totally worth persevering through the dips. 💐
As it’s PMOS month, I want to dive deep into this over the next couple of weeks.
