The real truth behind social media as a small business owner in the hair and makeup industry.

Maybe some of my small biz mates in the industry can relate to this post but recently I felt like giving up, packing it all in and deleting the lot…..! Then, I remembered if I don’t do it, who does?

Obviously social media is a great way to advertise your business and let everyone know what you’ve been up to, post your availability and connect with likeminded people.
The real truth is I spend hours scrolling for ideas on what to do and then by the time it comes to post my brain has already forgotten what it’s posting about.

Have I just spent a full sunday morning in bed planning my social media for the week? YES!
Will I probably only get 5 likes? YES!
But the truth is I can disappear into the background or I can give it a real go and show up for myself and my clients.

People comment when your out and about saying “your social media is really good but they don’t like or interact, I used to take it personally but now I realise I’m not everyone’s cup of tea but that’s fine I prefer Greggs cappuccino 😂

Anyway here’s to me, my small biz and trying to figure it out as an old school hairdresser at the age of 42😳

Not to scare my clients by using the “c” word but if you haven’t booked your Christmas appointments yet then here is your reminder.

Sometimes having a small business is hard and it’s even harder when you are the business, but the power of social media proved itself when I put my last minute available appointment on for tomorrow morning,,,, and now I’ve filled i😁
Not only have I made someone’s day by being able to get them booked in but I’m also now fully booked!
