I posted this on the other app a year ago and it went so crazy that I got scared to post it here 🤣

But here you can have it so that it stops haunting me.

I think there were two points that could be taken from this video: one about insurance & two about school policies.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand that insurance companies don’t cover hair professionals to work on clients under 16 (I understand their reasonings) but I don’t understand why, when it’s probably better to have someone who understands products, understands how they work, how to work safely etc. rather than teens using box dyes that we know have their own issues & aren’t entirely as advertised in terms of peroxide strengths etc.

Did I lighten an 8 year olds hair?? You bet yo ass I did! (Said in my finest American accent 😂)

Obviously we know as soon as the summer holidays hit all the children ask for their hair dyed.

With the colours she so desperately wanted this summer, I just wasn’t able to do, so I made an executive decision to put the knowledge I have into practice & lighten her hair. I did weaves and slices which were both teased to ensure no lightener got on her scalp.

Disclaimer* This is my daughter. She also chose the song at the end 😂 it’s one of her favs at the moment.

The year is 2021.. we are just coming out of lockdown, there are so many trending audios on tiktok, hairstylists have been told we are allowed back to work!

This gorgeous human reached out to me saying she wanted a big change after loosing a lot of weight, suffering with her mental health & wanted to figure out who she was.

Well if you know me, you know there’s nothing I love more than helping humans fall in love with themselves & helping them with their growth & healing, so I jumped at the chance.

The reality didn’t even hit me until I was midway through the hair that I was winging it! I had carefully curated each colour, I had spend hours researching and then on the day I just jumped in with both feet.

The results of this hair were stunning & to this day I am so proud of what I created! This was the hair that won me my first ever award! This colour is also what made message me & ask if I wanted to be affiliated with them. If I knew what I know now then yes I’d absolutely do things slightly different.
