Bit of a pinch me moment that I’m actually here. Never in my wildest dreams did I dare to imagine ever getting to stay on these paradise islands 🏝️

Even more blessed and grateful in light of recent events. Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn but it also reminds you just how strong you are and how much love surrounds you❤️

Here’s to healing, new beginnings and memories i’ll never forget! I’m leaving here as someone stronger, wiser and more grateful than ever🙏

Years from now, I won’t remember this as the trip where everything fell apart, I’ll remember it as the trip where things changed direction and my new life quietly began😊

Not business related but too good not to share….

What an AMAZING experience here so far. A perfect mix of nursing placements 👩‍⚕️🩺🩻and time to explore the culture of this beautiful country🥘🐒🦜🐘. From the village medical centre where they still use plants/oils 🌱to treat disease to the Government hospitals, which make you truly grateful for the NHS🏥.
The people here are the heart of Sri Lanka- friendly, warm and kind☺️. It’s been an incredible journey so far and I’m only half way through!
Met so many other volunteers along the way who have become my friends👯‍♀️(age is but a number). Solo travel really pushes your boundaries and you find a sense of freedom that doesn’t exist anywhere else. What a time to be alive! Loving it!❤️🇱🇰

Today I completed my FINAL STUDENT NURSE placement 🎉in the trust where I have trained for the last 3 years🥹. This year I’ve worked on the Acute Medical Unit, a beautiful Hospice ❤️and I’ve just finished an amazing placement with the End of Life and bereavment team which has been incredibly special ❤️🕊️.

Completing my Nursing degree has single handedly been the most challenging thing I’ve ever done! Balancing a full time business, 4 children and trying to have a life in between unpaid placements, Uni, study and commuting miles away. But I’ve done it!🙋🏼‍♀️

Massive thanks to my amazing Mum😀 who is my divine inspiration and driver for this new chapter. Without her love and support along the way I’d have thrown the towel in yonks ago!

It’s not over just yet..2,300 hours are required to apply for the NMC pin and registration. I have completed 2,225 hours so far. My final 75 hours will be completed over the next few weeks as tomorrow I fly SOLO to Sri Lanka ☀️🇱🇰✈️to volunteer overseas in the hospitals there. I can’t wait for this amazing opportunity, one I’m sure will stay with me forever.

Sometimes you’ve got to take a chance on yourself. Go with that feeling and see where it takes you. You’re NEVER too old to try something new.

Very importantly- I’ve been a makeup artist for the past 16 years and I LOVE my job❤️. I LOVE my clients ❤️ and this WILL NOT change! But I have to share some very special news… I have secured my first REGISTERED NURSE post (part-time obvs), my dream role on the IPU with the amazing team at Pendleside Hospice! How wonderful! Just like my wonderful Mum😀💛
