bing my dolls hair so by the age of 13 i started working in my local hairdressers as a saturday girl. They could see the potential in me so by the time i was 15 i was offered the chance to be their apprentice . I couldn't wait to start, the 7th of August 1972 arrived and i must say it was three very hard years, low wages but i didn't care because as i say to all todays generation once you have your apprenticeship paper and qualifications there is no one who can take them away from you . In 1974 while at Corby college i was given student of the year award i must say that was a very proud moment for me and my parents because while at Corby college i also entered many hair competitions and won many prizes then in 1975 i was offered a job working in Cottingham / Middleton
