Paul, after taking 15 minutes off his last half marathon time at the Lincoln half marathon on Sunday! Well done, Paul πŸ˜€.
His big goal is improving his marathon time at Manchester marathon. First things first, we're working on improving his base, which will see improvements across the board!
We're also addressing ongoing muscle tightness with a monthly sports massage as part of my massage and coaching package.

Well done to Fiona Jeffries , at the England masters X country qualifier in Betley. Despite feeling like she couldn't have run any better, she missed out on qualifying due to really strong competition . No one can ever run better than their best, and giving it a go is something she should be proud of.

Also, well done to Andy Hinchliffe in Warsaw, yes, another marathon! But he's getting back to his best with his 2nd fastest time and not far off his PB, bring on Valencia where he can go for it again!
Shout out to Brian, smashing another marathon, despite a little setback!

Another fun morning at the Sheffield 10k!

Whilst I was pacing 65 minutes, some of my runners were there doing amazing things!
Krystina Robyn doing a brilliant job pacing 85 minutes.
Isla doing her 1st 10k and smashing her target of sub 1 hour (58:02).
Paul setting a strong benchmark.
David Brown smashing his PB by over 2.5 minutes.
Amber feeling stronger after a sports massage and managed to run the whole thing in under 1 hour.
Mollie Stradling a PB and going 50 minutes for the first time, in the build to Chester marathon.
Oliver Thompson also training for Chester marathon doing another impressive long run and running at marathon pace for the 10k,after doing 11k beforehand.
Olly Eagle getting a course PB even though it wasn't the time he wanted but still a strong run.

I had quite a few massage clients out there as well, well done to you all.

It's always a great morning out seeing club mates and friendly faces, with a social after.

I have some availability for sports massages this week. The booking link is in the bio, or drop me a message if you want a different slot opening up.

Well done to Krystina Robyn at the Rotherham 10k, her first race post meniscus injury. We've had to build back up using the jeffing approach, and it's clearly working for her as she beat her target time 🀩.

Also well done to the guys at Cleethorpes half today on what looked like a fun but windy day at the seaside.

For , it was her second half marathon , unfortunately, the training didn't go to plan due a pinched nerve. We've managed the symptoms with regular sports massage and adapting the training, dropping the intensity and again using jeffing to get her through her longer runs. She was amazed that jeffing doesn't necessarily slow you down, and she had a great race despite a tumble.
Sharon Colyer had a plan to use it as a training run and progress to race pace . She finished feeling strong and managed a fast finish πŸ’ͺ.
Laura Fletcher and Andy Hinchliffe also had strong runs done as training runs. It's nice to see Laura back feeling strong and smashing training, and Andy even managed to bag 2nd M60.

Well done, all of you, I know how bad thay grass verge is at Cleethorpes. Have a well-earned rest now πŸ˜ƒ.

Well done to Andy Hinchliffe at the Great North Run yesterday! A very strong run and perfectly paced πŸ‘Œ.
Great that he's finally feeling normal after struggling with energy levels. After convincing him to take a bit of recovery after his 90k in July, he was back to filling his training plan with races.
We've had a few discussions about over racing and came to a compromise that he'd use some of the races as training runs. In between racing and active recovery, we've managed to squeeze in some training . He responds well to sub threshold work, with the added bonus that it's not fatiguing him. Hope this is a good confidence booster ahead of your 2 marathons this year, which I'm sure you'll smash πŸ˜€. But not before Cleethorpes half next week πŸ˜†.

Also, well done to my massage clients who did the GNR, great stuff πŸ˜€.

So nice to be back doing parkrun for the first time in 6 weeks. (How have I missed it for that long!)
Met up with Isla for a one2one, then she smashed out another PB, taking 1min 27 off her time last month, amazing 🀩, and I'm so excited for her first 10k at Sheffield 10k!
It was also good to catch up with some of my other runners, whether they were doing time trials, long runs or shakeout runs. It's always a good social at parkrun!

Well done to my runner and massage clients who did 9 edges today, that does looks fun 😍. And good luck to those doing the Great North Run tomorrow!

For massage appointments, September is fllling up but I can open up slots to suit you as and when required. Just drop me a message πŸ˜€. Booking link is in the bio.....

Another lactate test comparison and a massive well done to Sharon Colyer for managing to shift both her heartrate and lactate curves down and to the right. Basically meaning the same running speeds now require considerably less cardiovascular effort. LT1 has improved massively, and the fact that the line now stays flatter afterwards shows a much better ability to run progressively faster before lactate really takes off. This is the result of lots of easy Z1-2 running along with sub-threshold work after doing a short hill block.

Keep up the hard work, Sharon . I'm excited for the metric marathon and then next year's marathon goal πŸ˜€.
Thanks to Tom at Enduro Lab for giving us exciting days out and all the stats πŸ˜€.
