Let’s talk filler dissolving!

Dissolving of dermal filler is used when a client is unhappy with the current look of their lips. This can be for a number of reasons including uneven shape and migration.

What is filler migration?
Filler migration is when filler moves from the intended area, this can be caused by over filling.

How does filler dissolving work?
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers, it’s injected directly into where the filler is located.

What to expect?
Immediate swelling, bruising and slight tenderness. Within a few hours the swelling will subside and you can see a noticeable difference in the size of the area where filler was present. Although it can take up to 3 days for the filler to be fully dissolved.

When can I have the filler replaced?
Hyaluronidase is active for 2 weeks, so filler cannot be injected again until 2 weeks after the dissolving.
