Why Have a Colour Boost?

Permanent makeup naturally fades over time, allowing your brows to stay soft and natural-looking.

A colour boost refreshes the pigment, restores definition, and keeps your brows looking their best.

Everyone retains pigment differently, so there isn’t a set timeframe.

Your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare routine, and natural healing all play a part. Some clients have a colour boost after 12 months, while others may not need one for 2 years or more.

The longer you can leave in-between colour boosts the better, so your skin doesn’t become ‘over saturated’ with pigment.

The best time for a colour boost is when your brows have faded enough to benefit from a refresh. If you’re unsure when that might be, just get in touch, so I can have a look and check.

Loved having a lip colour boost, as well as catching up with my lovely friend Nadia from Beauté Elite PMU.

My lips were originally tattooed many years ago, using a popular brand of pigment at that time which was a soft pink colour.

However, as pigment science has evolved within the industry, we are now aware that certain colour pigments contain a high proportion of Titanium Dioxide.
This component lasts much longer in the skin than any of the others, and over time the colour becomes very faded and yellow, which is difficult to cover or correct.

Nadia had a pure red pigment which was compatible to use with my previous colour.
It contained no Titanium Dioxide and brought my lips back from being a faded yellow peachy colour to a more natural pink lip colour.
