Kids driving you mad yet? Please don't forget to take some time out for yourself. We all need a little tlc now and then, and as a parent myself I fully understand the organised chaos of the summer break and the need to just have an hour to myself now and then, so if this is you too, treat yourself to a massage. It will relax, repair and reset your body and mind to help you get through the next few weeks π

I am a huge fan of functional fitness so being able to move my body in multidirectional ways is really important to me.
Something else that's important to me is ensuring that my fascia is hydrated enough to be able to continue my activities into a ripe old age.
If you are feeling tired, stiff and achy, it is so important that you hydrate your fascia.
Visiting local parks helps maintain and heal your fascia by providing the ideal environment for dynamic, multi-directional movement. Walking on soft, varied terrain like grass, engaging in deep stretching, and enjoying stress-relieving sunlight naturally hydrate, relax, and reorganize this vital connective tissue.
β
Key Fascial Benefits of Park Activities
Multi-Directional Movement and "Bouncing"
The Benefit: Open green spaces invite dynamic movements like gentle swaying, lunging, and oscillating, which are vital for healthy connective tissues.
How it works: Fascia responds best to varied, fluid motions rather than repetitive, rigid movements. Gentle "bouncing" engages the fascia's elastic properties, pumping fresh fluid through the tissue to lubricate it and prevent "gluing" or stiffness.
If Multi-directional movement or bouncing around a park is not your thing , why not just find a quiet space on the grass or a mat to use a foam roller or have a stretch .This too will hydrate your fascia to encourage movement and increase your mobility.
If you feel would like help with this, please don't hesitate to ...

WHAT IS FASCIA?
Fascia is a continuous, 3D web of fibrous connective tissue that wraps and supports every muscle, bone, organ, and nerve in your body. It provides structural framework, aids in flexible movement, and acts as a communication and hydration network.
How to Look After It
To keep your fascia supple, hydrated, and pain-free, focus on these five daily habits:
Move in all directions: Fascia thrives on variety. Switch up linear exercises (like walking) with dynamic, multidimensional movements from activities like Yoga, Pilates, or dance.
Stay hydrated: Fascia contains a gel-like substance that requires ample fluids to glide smoothly. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to maintain tissue elasticity.
Perform self-massage: Use tools like foam rollers or massage balls to apply slow, sustained pressure to tight spots (adhesions). This stimulates fluid flow and helps soften stiff areas.
Prioritize rest and sleep: Your body regenerates and repairs fascial tissue during genuine relaxation and sleep.
Eat collagen-building foods: Support tissue health by consuming foods rich in Vitamin C, Omega-3 fatty acids, and high-quality protein.
If you're dealing with stiffness or pain
I can recommend specific stretches or localized release techniques for your situation.
