Look what the fox cubs did to our dahlias…. Not one, not two but three foxes!!!!
So ‘foxed off’ I could cry!
Top tips please for keeping them out of our dahlias, plants and digging holes in our grass.
We love them however not at 3-5am partying in our garden!!!!

Gorgeous Dahlias in our garden…. Dahlia world as we call it is all planted and looked gorgeous for about 10days….. until guess what….. the foxes came. Not one, not two but three foxes and decided to have a party and break and dig up some of our dahlias 🙈. Check out the video on the next post I load up. I could cry.
I am so ‘foxed off’!
I really like foxes and these are cubs which are cute however they aren’t cute at 3-5am (caught on camera) digging up our bulbs, breaking plants and digging holes in the lawn and on top of all this they have eaten a bit of our garden furniture 🙈. Nothing is safe in the garden around foxes.
Most of our dahlias are from Gilberts Dahlias who are a great family run garden centre in Sherfield English. Worth a visit and they are very knowledgeable. Hopefully they know some tips on keeping foxes out.
Any top tips to keep the foxes away from our plants would be hugely grateful???!

Where does the time go….. This time 9 months ago we flew back from Costa Rica and not sure how to sum up our volunteering trip however it was incredible…… For anyone that has never volunteered abroad honestly go and do it! The best thing we have ever done and would do it again in a heartbeat.
From Turtle watching, collecting the hatchlings, measuring and releasing them into the sea. As well as the turtles we saw and monitored monkeys, bats and crocodiles to make sure they are all surviving in the wild.
We had butterfly duties from collecting their eggs, keeping an eye on the caterpillar stage right up to becoming a beautiful butterfly. Who knew butterflies are soooo messy when it was our cleaning day!
We were also lucky to spot an ant eater !
It really is hard to put into words this incredible trip, meeting fab staff, other volunteers and being at one with nature.
Food was delicious, breath taking scenery and no alarm needed as woken up by the howling monkeys.
A massive shout out to Vicky WorkingAbroad | Wildlife | Community for recommending this trip to our family and even going out of her way to check they can provide gluten free and another massive shout out to Sarah & team Reserva Playa Tortuga, Ojochal for looking after us and providing us with an amazing volunteering week and treating us like family.
We will return one day 😊

New challenge for me today….. I walked 10 miles in one go (and in 30 degrees heat!). For Dave he had a warm up of 20 miles last week so was a walk in the park 🤣
I am really pleased I pushed myself as such an achievement. I normally only do 3-4 miles at a time. Mile 5 was hard up hill with steps and mile 9 that mile went for ages. Im sure the walk was nearly 11 miles! However with water, snacks and lunch provided by DofE it made the walk bearable.
If you see me walking funny no laughing!
The most organised event I’ve completed. All for an amazing cause to help to ensure that all young people, including those facing financial barriers and who need additional support, can have the same opportuntiy to participate in the life-changing awards scheme and transform their lives.

Have you seen the new packaging for our powders…. So much easier to use than the old packaging.
Our powders contain no talc and are corn starch based which is better for the skin.
Tea tree & Lavender powder great for sweaty feet, after sports and making the skin soft. Smells really refreshing too. A great must-have for the beach to remove the sand!
Baby powder contains chamomile which is light and fine and perfect for baby’s delicate skin.
Have you tried them?

Arlo loved his little fruit bobbing refreshment today….. Great way to keep him (dogs) hydrated and use their brain. Followed by a dip in the paddling pool.

Hayfever getting the better of you……
My personal favourite products and tips to help reduce symptoms of hay fever I’ve learnt over the years:
☀️ Up magnesium, zinc and vitamin D vitamins to help build the immune system. My fav is the Together Health supplements. Gentle on the tummy and this one has vitamin C, D and zinc so a great boost for the immune system. They do a magnesium supplement that I have now and then or I get my magnesium via Sweet Bee Organics butter balm and use on the soles of my feet before bed. Helps to promote sleep too.
☀️ White tea range of Neals Yard Remedies is great to cool in the fridge between uses…. The eye gel for around the eyes and the spray to use directly on the face throughout the day to stay refreshed and hydrated.
Neals yard remedies Rose balm for any dry patches, under the nose or as a lip balm.
Eucalyptus salve is a life saver…. Can use on the chest & forehead to promote sleep and keep the airways clearer. Also can use on the soles of the feet (when not using the magnesium butter) over the lung area (reflexology point) to help clear them. Believe it or not we absorb lots through the feet.
☀️ avoid drying clothes outside as this can collect and trap pollen on the clothes
☀️ keep windows and doors shut in the height of hayfever season
☀️ shower straight away after spending time in the outdoors and change clothes to remove pollen trapped
☀️ Change pillow cases every few days
☀️ stay hydrated having water regularly

Veg coming through…. Can open a veg shop soon 🤣🤣🤣
Slugs and snails this year are a huge pain as well as the foxes, squirrels and birds…… Definitely had more this time last year.
I love wildlife however when they are pinching our veg noooo. I feel for the farmers up against the wildlife and the crazy weather this year.
Definitely support local farmers more than ever.
