✨ Hair update… and it’s finally WASH DAY! 🙌🏼

A few days on and the static is still hanging around 😂 (thank you, Global Professional salon brand!) and yes, my hair is looking a little oily this morning… but that’ll be the Monat Rejuveniqe Oil doing its thing.

Today I’m washing with the BondiQ range, and there’s a reason I’m switching things up. 🤍

I’ve used IR Clinical exclusively for the last year- shampoo, conditioner and the Hair Thinning Defence Serum - and my hair journey, particularly my hairline, has been something else. I’ve included a glimpse of where my hairline was a year ago in this video because sometimes you need to see the difference to appreciate the journey!

But as I approach 46, I want to give my hair the best possible care. So now I’m alternating my IR Clinical routine with BondiQ, which is all about strengthening my roots and cuticles and helping me get the best out of my hair.

Eyebrow mapping: my SPMU journey 🤎

There’s more than one way to map a brow, and every PMU artist will have their own preferred method.

Some swear by thread mapping, others prefer a ruler against the forehead, and some use a combination of techniques.

Coming from a scalp micropigmentation background, where measuring and precision are such a big part of my work, I naturally gravitate towards using rulers and measurements when mapping brows, too.

For me, being able to see the numbers and work with those measurements just makes sense.

And that’s the thing with this industry… we all have different training, different techniques and different ways of working.

There isn’t one single right way to do it. It’s about understanding your method, trusting your process and creating a shape that works for your client. ✨

Sometimes clients just hit you differently. 🤍

Meeting Mary this week has been one of those moments that reminds me why I love what I do.

I meet so many incredible women through my work, and every single one has her own story. But sometimes, someone just leaves a little bit more of a mark on you.

Mary is a warrior.

She’s battled cancer, navigated some incredibly difficult personal and family circumstances, whilst being a mum, a loving partner and someone who continues to work hard and keep smiling.

I’m not sharing her story for sympathy - quite the opposite.

It’s the fact that, through everything life has thrown at her, she’s still standing, still smiling and still being Mary. ❤️

So to be able to give her something as simple as a set of brows that made her feel a little more like her old self again was honestly phenomenal.

And this is the bit of my job I sometimes struggle to put into words.

Yes, I love the business.
Yes, I love creating beautiful brows.
Yes, I love having a business that fits around my life and my goals.

But I really love the people.

I get to sit with women, hear their stories, connect with them and be reminded that we’re all just navigating our own journeys.

And sometimes, I get to give someone a tiny piece of themselves back. 🤍

That’s pretty special.
