Well it's a thought, but although I do love a lipstick, equal pay and equal rights, everywhere, would be my preference.
Still, there we are...
But, failing that, a new lipstick is always cheering.
Make sure you get one with no nasties in, as some of it inevitably gets ingested.
Your local health food shop is a good place to start looking.

Borago is not just a magnet for bees, but a pleasant pretty plant to have in any garden, and there's so much in my garden at the moment, the bees are delirious with joy. I put some borage blossoms and slices of lime in a fairy cake tin and added water, to make pretty large ice cubes, but
I also add it to herb tea blends, and also to compressing water for delicate or sensitive skin, for its soothing and calming properties.
As the flowers are edible, with a faint tinge of cucumber, you can sprinkle them on your salad or float them in your Pimm's, instead of cucumber.
borage seed oil can work wonders for persistent itchy skin.

People who've never had it call it a "minor" ailment.
It doesn't feel like it at the time though.
Unless you like to spend the entire summer zonked out on anti-histamines, you might need to look at other, more natural options. So I wrote a wee bit about it on my Patreon page - The Still Room

It's Mango day! Yes, I know, who thought of that? But actually mangoes are even fabber than they taste.
Not only are they delicious – they’re a treat for your skin too! 🍑
Packed with vitamins A, C and E, as well as fatty acids, these juicy beauties can help brighten your complexion, stop spots in their tracks, and keep your skin looking plump and youthful, as the antioxidants in them help protect against environmental stress – like pollution and UV rays.
Mango butter, which is what is used in skincare products, comes from the seeds (or kernels) of the mango fruit, which is extracted from the fruit.
The kernel inside that seed is then removed, dried, and cold-pressed or processed to extract the fat, which is what becomes mango butter – a creamy, solid butter with a light scent.
Also rich in fatty acids, vitamins A, C and E, it's fab for moisturising and soothing dry skin, and improving elasticity. It even confers a certain level of SPF
Basically, it's skincare gold from the heart of a mango! 🥭✨
So next time you’re tucking into a mango, just remember… your skin’s loving it as much as your taste buds are! 💛🥭

We all need to take time to recharge ourselves...
Some people garden, some read, others scroll endlessly, but perhaps the most relaxing way to recharge is to lie back and let someone look after you. Being tucked up on a cosy treatment table and having your skin cared for is also nurturing for the soul.

For millennia, Wise Women have been availing themselves of the equally wise (and well named) sage, and its female-friendly properties.
Apart from being delicious in food, and making a (well, not particularly delightful) really good tea for sore throats, it helps rebalance those pesky female hormones.
Which is often a consummation devoutly to be wished...
As we all know, the natural menopausal drop in oestrogen levels can give rise to all sorts of unpleasantness, which sage can help reduce, like hot flushes and hyperhidrosis (AKA excess sweating). It might not help you be any more tolerant of idiocy, though, that's just a part of getting older...
Certain compounds in sage have estrogen-like properties, which help balance yours. Some studies even tentatively suggest that Sage is an excellent alternative to HRT, which is wonderful for anyone who doesn't want to, or can't use synthetic HRT.
Actually, I did use a lot of sage, while I was at that stage, and had no symptoms at all. (Yes, I know - lucky me.)
Whatever, it smells delightful and soothing, and is something I use for clients at the start of my longer treatments, to calm and relax them.
Fancy giving it a whirl? You can use a ready prepared bath oil, or just brew yourself some up from the garden. If you'd like to try a sage footbath, all my longer Dr Hauschka treatments start with one...

I know I say this a lot, but who thinks of these days?
What i'd like is one that looks more old hippie/greenwitch and less fake chemist, but there we are.

Feeling stressed? Lavender will sort that out.
One sniff and you start to relax, but too many and it's so soporific, you'll start snoozing.
Which is why it's used in the compressing water at the start of many of my treatments, to relax and calm you.
Feel the everyday pressures slip away as you drift off into peace and tranquility...

She's not wrong. But we rarely see it, because we're too busy looking for the flaws and faults, like lines, wrinkles and spots.
But feeling beautiful is important if you want to look beautiful, and the best way to do that is to look after your face.
After all, it's the only one you'll get. They haven't yet perfected face transplants, and, really, would you really want to go through all that: pain, aggro and operations?
Cherish the one you've got is my (free) advice. If you need a little more help, you can book a Skin review and prescription. you can do that on Zoom, from the comfort of your own home, or in person, if you're local to the .

Mojito day, but why not try mint tea instead?
It's far better for your liver.
Now, you can buy tea bags, but why would you? Pick a sprig of mint from the garden, pour over boiling water, and enjoy the aromatic scent and the light delicate flavour.
There's really nothing like a cup of fresh mint tea - so much more re*fresh*ing than a tea bag of musty dry herbs.
While that's handy in the winter, as it's still growing like mad in the garden, why not enjoy it fresh?
