✨Appointment policy✨

I never enjoy having to post things like this, but due to a high number of late cancellations, appointment changes, and no-shows over the past few months, I will be enforcing the salon booking policy going forward.This isn’t something I’m doing lightly - missed appointments are a substantial loss of income and have become unsustainable alongside overheads such as chair rent and stock.

‼️Please read policy carefully‼️

• A deposit is required at the time of booking.
• Cancellations or appointment changes within 48 hours of your appointment will result in the deposit being lost, and a new deposit will be required to rebook.
• No-shows will be charged the full balance, and no further appointments will be booked until the balance has been paid.

Many of you are aware I’m currently working reduced hours (around 9 hours most weeks) and some Saturdays when able - due to a family illness and two of my children having complex needs, which means every appointment slot is incredibly valuable. Late cancellations, changes, and no-shows prevent me from offering those spaces to clients on my waiting list.

I have been hairdressing for 18 years, and I always try my absolute best to accommodate everyone - swapping days, coming in on days off, and stretching myself beyond capacity. I completly understand sometimes things happen and are completely unavoidable.
But when those efforts result in empty chairs - especially when im missing out on my childrens time; dance comps, football matches, school performances and stay and plays , sometimes I’m moving childrens hospital appointments to accommodate clients and workload to sustain everything - it’s incredibly disheartening.

As a single parent with children who have complex disabilities who can only access limited childcare, meaning getting to work requires significant organisation and planning. I hope you can appreciate why reliability and respect for my time are essential.

‼️Bookings & Messages‼️

I pay for an online booking system, which is the best way to secure appointments. I receive a very high volume of messages daily via Facebook, Instagram , text message and WhatsApp for appointments and consultations. While I’m not always able to respond immediately, I do genuinely try my best but if everyone can try and book online (I’m happy to help if you don’t know what your booking and i know a few clients I know don’t have access to tech) There is an option to book a consultation directly online - I can not be doing consultations over photos and text messages.

I’m aware there has been some confusion with a few clients thinking I’m no longer working at Hair Philosophy- I absolutely am. At busy times, when the girls are answering calls and messages, things can occasionally get mixed up, and I appreciate your patience with this as I’m not always in the salon.

As always, I will do my best to fit everyone in where possible, but I also pride myself on quality and service, so I won’t overbook or squeeze appointments in at the expense of either.

I truly value every single one of my clients and I’m so grateful for your continued support and understanding as with out you nothing is possible but enforcing this policy is the only way I can continue doing the job I love 🫶

Before my whole house becomes chaos and I’m up to my eyeballs in shredded wrapping paper , I want to thank all my clients from the bottom of my heart 🤍and apologises for not being as proactive answering messages and posting on social media as much I’ve felt I haven’t had the capacity to keep up with it all lately.🥴

This has been a really difficult year for our family with my mam being ill, turning up to work and putting on a happy face has been a challenge at times through unimaginable worry and stress, the kindness, patience and understanding you’ve shown has meant more than I can ever put into words.

I’m so grateful not only for your loyalty, but for the conversations, shared stories and friendships made 🫶

Thank you for trusting me and planning me in to your budget every month, you don’t just support me as a small business- it allows my daughter to go dancing each week and my boys to attend football.

Thank you for the lovely cards, gifts and kind words over the Christmas period… hopefully I will see more of you all in the new year if I can extend my hours a little. I know anyone who I haven’t been able to fit in over this last quarter of the year, the other girls will have taken care of you and are in the very best hands ♥️
