A tidy-up for this Cardiff client before she heads off to Reggae Land Festival this weekend. 🎶

I first met her just three months ago when I was called in to rescue some botched extensions. Fast forward to today, and her locks are coming along beautifully. Next time I see her, we'll be replacing those extensions with some custom made, natural ones

Have an amazing time at the festival! 💚💛❤️

Some people think long dreadlocks just happen with time, but healthy, strong, well-sectioned locks are the result of years of looking after them. This Swansea client has been growing his locks for over a decade, and it shows..

By keeping on top of regular maintenance, his sections have stayed neat and tidy, preventing bigger problems from developing later on. The best part? He only needs to see me twice a year to keep everything looking and feeling its best.

That's one of the things I love most about dreadlocks. Once they're mature and well established, they're one of the lowest-maintenance hairstyles you can have, while still making one hell of a statement.

When it's really hot, you'll usually find me with my locks wrapped up. 🌞
Quite a few people have asked how I do it, so I enlisted my beautiful model to help with some simple step-by-step photos. Next time I'll do a video, but here's the general idea.
The most important part is gathering your hair so it sits on a diagonal line towards your chin. This creates a lovely neat column at the back, running straight up from the nape of your neck, which helps the wrap sit comfortably.
When you make your bun, don't pull it too tight or make it too perfect. A loose, relaxed bun is much more comfortable and less likely to become itchy or irritating.
Wrapping the fabric is actually the easy bit! For this wrap, I placed the centre of the scarf at the back of the head, crossed the ends over at the forehead, then tucked them in. That's just one way of doing it though—there's no right or wrong. It doesn't need to be tight, and it certainly doesn't need to be perfect. Just have a play and find what feels comfortable for you.
Stay cool out there! ☀️🧡

This Carmarthenshire client prefers to keep maintenance to a minimum and isn't a fan of the discomfort that can sometimes come with it. So today was all about gentle, careful TLC to freshen up her epic locks.
A little bit of love can make a big difference, and I was more than happy to help bring them back to looking their best.

Every once in a while I get the opportunity to work on hair that is so beautiful I genuinely feel honoured.

This Milford Haven client has some of the most stunning natural dreadlocks I've ever had the pleasure of maintaining. Those lush, lux ends are all her own hair. Regular maintenance certainly plays a part, but so does the care she puts into looking after them between appointments. The results speak for themselves.
