Empowered Within
Your space to breathe, reflect, and rebuild. šæ Helping women shift their mindset, reclaim their life, and finally feel like themselves again.
The foundation of self-care isnāt a face mask⦠itās your body. š¤
Before we worry about productivity, motivation or mindfulness, we need to ask ourselves:
š§ Have I had enough water today?
š“ Have I had enough sleep?
š„ Have I nourished my body?
š¶āāļø Have I moved in a way that feels good?
When these basic needs arenāt being met, our nervous system has to work much harder. We become more irritable, emotionally overwhelmed, exhausted and burnt out.
This isnāt about being perfect. Itās about recognising that your body has needs, and meeting those needs is a necessary act of self-care.
Self-care starts with your foundations.
Which one do you struggle with most: sleep, hydration, nutrition or movement? š
There was a time when I felt like I had to explain every decision I made. I wanted people to understand me, for them to approve.
These days? Iām genuinely unbothered by people not understanding my choices. If something brings me peace, joy or makes my life better, thatās enough for me.
Sometimes I actually smile when people look confused. I wonder what theyād love to ask me but donāt, or what conversations theyāre having about me when Iām not there. š And then I carry on with my happy little day.
The people who are meant to understand you will. The people who donāt⦠donāt have to.
I would love so many of the women I speak with to reach this level of freedom. The moment you stop living for other peopleās approval is the moment you start living for yourself.
If it makes you happy, it doesnāt need to make sense to anyone else. š¤

āYou could grow the greatest apples in the world, but it wouldnāt matter to someone whoās only looking for oranges.ā
Read that again.
Some people will never see your value. Not because you donāt have any, but because theyāre looking for something different.
So stop shrinking.
Stop changing.
Stop twisting yourself into someone youāre not just to be chosen.
The right people wonāt ask you to become an orange.
Theyāll be grateful they found an apple.
Your worth isnāt determined by someone elseās preference.
Keep growing.
Keep showing up.
Keep being unapologetically you.
The people who are meant for you will recognise your value. šāØ
So many people think self-care is bubble baths, face masks and spa days⦠but thatās only the very top of the pyramid.
If youāre constantly feeling burnt out, it might not be because you need another pamper day. It might be because one of the foundations is missing.
⨠My Self-Care Pyramid
š” 1. Physiological self-care (the foundation)
This always comes first. Sleep, hydration, nourishing your body and regular movement. If these needs arenāt being met, everything else becomes so much harder.
ā¤ļø 2. Emotional self-care
This is one of the biggest ones for me. Boundaries. Learning to say no without guilt. Processing your emotions instead of pushing them down. Making time for hobbies and the things that genuinely bring you joy. Protecting your emotional wellbeing isnāt selfish, itās essential.
š¤ 3. Social self-care
We all need connection, but the right connection. Healthy connections fill your cup. Toxic or forced connections drain it. Find your people, nurture those relationships, but also learn to enjoy your own company. The relationship you have with yourself matters too.
š± 4. Growth self-care
The things that help you become the person you want to be. Learning new skills, setting goals, challenging yourself and giving back to others all contribute to a healthier, more fulfilled life.
⨠5. Luxury self-care (the top of the pyramid)
This is what most people picture when they hear āself-careā- the holidays, massages, facials and pamper days. Theyāre lovely, but they canāt replace the foundations underneath. Luxury self-care works best when the rest of your pyramid is already being looked after.
This isnāt a strict scientific model, itās just how I like to think about self-care. We often jump straight to luxury self-care, but lasting wellbeing is usually built from the foundations up.
Which level do you think you neglect the most? š

I had a little breakdown today.
Iāve been carrying a really heavy feeling lately. Itās one of those things you canāt fix, change, or control⦠you just have to accept it. But today it all got a bit too much and I was tipped over the edge.
My Fitbit thinks Iāve done 82 minutes of exercise today. I havenāt. Apparently crying is a workout. š¤£
So, after I put the kids to bed, I knew I needed to do something that would force my nervous system to finally switch off.
Now Iām outside with a book, wrapped up because itās a bit chilly, listening to the evening sounds. The cool air, being in nature, and getting lost in a story are exactly what I needed for force a system reset.
I can actually feel my body unclenching.
Whatās your go-to when you need your nervous system to finally relax?

A lot of us got a little too enthusiastic with the tweezers back in the day. š
Now some of us are getting closer to that age where hair seems to stop growing where we want it⦠and starts growing everywhere else. š
Thatās where a brow lamination can work its magic.
I donāt do the big, fluffy, brushed-up brows. My style is soft, natural-looking brows that simply look fuller, neater and more defined.
Whether your brows have a mind of their own and grow in every direction except the right one, or theyāre looking a little sparse with gaps from age and years of over-plucking, brow lamination can help create beautifully tidy, natural looking brows youāll love.
Would you prefer a subtle, natural brow or the bold fluffy look? š¤
We spend so much time staying in places, jobs, relationships or routines simply because weāve already invested so much.
But the time youāve already spent isnāt a reason to keep going in the wrong direction.
Changing your mind isnāt failure. Itās growth. š¤
I used to be an accountant. I didnāt realise for years how much I hated it because Iād convinced myself Iād already invested too much time to walk away.
Changing direction was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Whatās one thing youāve changed direction on that turned out to be the best decision you ever made?

I used to spend so much time wondering why I always felt like the outsider looking in.
Why did everyone else seem to find their people so easily? Why did I always feel like I was watching life happen from the edge?
For years I assumed there must be something wrong with me.
Maybe there is.
Or maybe there never was.
Maybe my brain just works differently.
Maybe I wasnāt meant to squeeze myself into places that were never designed for me in the first place.
The older I get, the less I care about it.
The more boundaries I have, and the less willing I am to be there only when it suits other people.
The less I chase people.
The more I genuinely enjoy my own company whenever Iām not with the beautiful little family that I have created.
I donāt need an invitation to every table. I donāt need everyone to understand me. I donāt need to be everyoneās cup of tea. āļø
I just need to enjoy the life Iām building. And I do.
Whether itās family, friends, work⦠let them do them, and you do you.
Life becomes a whole lot more peaceful when you stop trying to convince people of your worth and start protecting your own peace instead.
If Iām enjoying the show, Iāll stay. If Iām not, Iāll simply find a new one. š¤
Whatās something youāve stopped chasing as youāve got older?
Monday Mantra š¤
āToday is going to be a good day.ā
I canāt control everything that happens to me, but I can control how I choose to respond.
My thoughts shape my actions, and my actions shape my life. Thatās why I try to start my week with intention.
Iāve been a little out of the habit of manifesting lately, and I can feel the difference. Time to get back to it!
Whether youāre spiritual or not, thereās some fascinating psychology behind it. When your brain focuses on something, it starts noticing more of it. Think about red cars and suddenly theyāre everywhere. Itās not because there are more red cars⦠itās because your mind is subconsciously looking for them.
The same can happen with opportunities, gratitude, confidence and the good in your life. What you consistently focus on has a way of shaping what you notice and how you show up.
So today, what are you choosing to focus on?
⨠What would you love to manifest for yourself this week?
