Purple is one of those colours that people seem to have strong feelings about. Unlike some colours that demand attention, the moment they walk into a room, purple has a quieter confidence. It feels elegant, trustworthy and somehow a little wise. Perhaps that's why it has been linked with royalty, spirituality and wisdom for centuries.

When I analyse wardrobes, I often notice something interesting. People tend to fall into one of two camps. They either own lots of purple in every imaginable shade, or they don't own any at all. Very few people seem indifferent to it.

Maybe that's because purple isn't really one colour. It's a whole family of colours, from soft lavender and heather through to rich plum, aubergine and deep indigo. I've got the boots, the shoes, the slippers, the scarf, the earrings and a tunic that I love...oh yes, pyjamas and cosy trews! Sadly, I had to recycle my gorgeous coat which got too tatty but I may just find room for a replacement...it just never goes out of fashion, well some of us won't let it!

I adjusted the size of the shoulders but the sleeves still slipped off a bit....but this tip works...two mini pierced earrings do just the job! Only try if the stud is thin, not too long and the fabrics aren't tightly woven.

BTW If you see random reels coming up on my Instagram it's because...well, I launched my business before I even had a typewriter. I was so excited to buy an early electric one where you could see what you typed and delete the letter as you went along without using tipex! To make posters you cut out letters from magazines and stuck and pasted the information on. It's very exciting to be part of this new world but I feel like I'm back at school!

Doesn't everything change and date so quickly. The fonts, the styling, colour trends - fashion in every way. The answer is to enjoy moving with the times and enjoying things every step of the way!
