Recently, a chandelier from Alton Castle in Staffordshire was restored using our 23.75ct Extra Thick Gold Leaf, bringing new life to one of the castle's beautiful historic features. Perched above the Churnet Valley, Alton Castle is a remarkable example of Gothic Revival architecture, with a history stretching back to Saxon times. The first stone castle on the site was built in the 12th century by Bertram de Verdun, making it a place with centuries of heritage. The re-gilding was expertly carried out by local gilder Jim Plant, who has ensured this historic chandelier continues to shine for years to come.
