This skin didn’t need me to do more.

It needed me to understand when not to.

With active, inflamed acne, my priority wasn’t microneedling the scarring or reaching for the strongest treatment I could offer.

It was getting the skin healthy first.

That has meant gentle professional treatments, consistency at home and recognising when support from her GP needed to become part of the journey.

Because acne is rarely just about the spots we can see.

And when someone is already feeling frustrated with their skin, throwing more at it isn’t always the answer.
