10 Minute Declutter

Had a lovely day decluttering and organising my clients home office/study.

We started by going through her books ๐Ÿ“š & discovered two decluttering books. Which I must say werenโ€™t read ๐Ÿ˜‚, we agreed I would take one to read & send her the tips which I believe could help her & the rest of the family.

By the end of the session we had piles of recycling โ™ป๏ธ, paperwork for shredding & lots of books to be sold on the app Sell Your Books. If they canโ€™t be sold the rest will be taken to the local charity shop or library.

We did find lots of stationery so perfect for when the kids go back to school.

The summer holidays is the perfect time to be organising & decluttering rooms in your home & outside buildings too.

Enjoy your day and remember tidy home ๐Ÿก tidy mind.

Bedroom Declutter

A very satisfying job organising & decluttering a young girls bedroom.
I am sure the charity shop will be happy with these donations today.
I have sorted the items separately for rag to make life easier for the staff.
We also had two bags of rubbish too.

4.5 hours can really make a huge difference to a room which needs a very big clear out.

I organised all the clothing into categories, sorted make up & beauty products & created a memory box.

I always suggest having a waste paper bin in all bedrooms plus a laundry basket ๐Ÿงบ if you have the space. Teaching your children what the process is at an early age will really help them as they grow up.

School holidays are a good time to have a sort out, see what stationery, uniform, bags, footwear you need for the new school year.

Have a lovely day, I am off to IKEA with a client so looking forward to an enjoyable day buying organisers, containers etc ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Once A Month Client

As some of you already know I have my regulars & my client yesterday I see once a month. It started as me helping her to declutter before moving from a house to a flat in a residential elderly home.
I was with her on moving day did all the meter readings etc & made sure nothing was left. Dropped the keys off & helped her move into her new home.

Not everyone has family that can be there on the day & I have helped other clients in the past too.

Itโ€™s important to make them feel at home straight away & have some one there to liaise with the removal company as well.

I make my lovely client a cheese & salad cream sandwich & flask of tea every time I go as she was always forgetting to buy bread ๐Ÿž & milk ๐Ÿ˜Š. I am not sure ๐Ÿค” if she enjoys having my lunch rather than seeing me ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I now go shopping for her to make sure she has plenty of supplies & freeze her bread into 2 slices at a time.

Yesterday I replaced an old file & relabelled the new one with sections she required plus more organising & tidying.

I enjoy my time with such an amazing lady who has travelled the world and has lots of tales to tell.

It makes my day when she says I am her fairy ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ godmother ๐Ÿฅฐ.

Have a lovely day all & remember tidy home ๐Ÿก tidy mind.

Before & After A Declutter

Enjoyed decluttering & organising my clients shed or shall we call it man cave ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Clearing the floor & organising into categories was my main aim. In fairness I did this in 3.5 hours & could have spent longer sorting more but had limited time.
We were also trying to fill the skip which was possibly being collected the next day.

As when I declutter a kitchen you need to do the numbers game in a shed too.
Consider how many tape measures, old paint brushes, rollers, buckets ๐Ÿชฃ etc you need to keep. Think ๐Ÿค” do I need 3 spades when I only have one pair of hands ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿ˜Š?

My clients words were โ€œ it looks fantastic & what a great job youโ€™ve done. Massive thank youโ€. This made my day/week one happy home organiser ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€.

Hope you have a great week & if you need out buildings cleared out the summer is the best time to do it.

Donโ€™t Make Life About Possessions

Came across this today from & thought how true this post is. A lot of people do make life about collecting things that make them happy sometimes for only a short while.
Rather than spending money on making memories with their loved ones.
I know people that wonโ€™t invite guests to their home as they are embarrassed & concerned about being judged.

People will remember you for your kindness not what car you drove or how big your kitchen island is.

Make time to clear the clutter & have a one in one out rule so it doesnโ€™t build up again. Think ๐Ÿค” about do I really need that new handbag or would you rather have a lovely meal out with your partner?

If you have ever heard of the book Swedish death cleaning it is worth a read. Itโ€™s not being morbid it just makes you think about all the rubbish you may have in your loft & whether your kids will just bin it when youโ€™re gone. If you have some beautiful china wrapped up in a box why not sell it & use the money to do something that will make you happy ๐Ÿ˜Š. Itโ€™s not bringing you any joy being out of sight.
Have a think today about items you really donโ€™t need & think about taking a step towards parting with them & donโ€™t focus on the cost.

Donโ€™t forget Tidy home ๐Ÿก tidy mind

Decluttering & Destroying Day ๐Ÿ˜‚

Had an unusual & enjoyable day working with a lovely client.
We were decluttering & organising two outbuildings. We grouped items to go back in, charity & skip. I cannot tell you how excited we were when the skip turned up ๐Ÿคฃ. The delivery guy must have thought we were bonkers ๐Ÿ˜.

I had the pleasure of helping break up their old garden table & even cut back some plants ๐Ÿชด to get to old pots etc destined for the skip.

After quite a few hours and lots of laughter we had cleared huge amounts & left their decking all set for the sunny weekend โ˜€๏ธ.

Hope you all had a great weekend & enjoyed the football early hours โšฝ๏ธ.

Donโ€™t forget tidy home & garden ๐Ÿช tidy mind .

Organising Gadget

My lovely client yesterday during a wardrobe declutter introduced me to this folding board for tee shirts ๐Ÿ‘š & jumpers.
Great little piece to make life easier for us all. Some people arenโ€™t worried about what their clothes look like in a drawer but it will help keep them from creasing up & easier to retrieve from a pile.

Do you have any favourite gadgets?
Most of mine are in the kitchen, such as my hand blender & peeler that does julienne carrots ๐Ÿฅ• ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Hope you have a wonderful July & lovely day.

Remember tidy home ๐Ÿก tidy mind.

Kitchen Declutter

Kitchenโ€™s are one of my favourite rooms in a home to organise & declutter. I love a before & after photo as it is good for my clients to see the difference.

As I always quote empty everything out of the cupboard or drawer before you start if you are facing it alone.
When it comes to food & medicine ๐Ÿ’Š the first step is to dispose of any out of date items.

As you can see from the medicine cupboard it made a huge difference with the space left over.
With meds they will be less effective and when it comes to out of date food the taste just wonโ€™t be the same.

Small containers are useful to group like products together. They can be great for messy jars of honey & for flour etc that can often spill. Saves you a lot of cleaning ๐Ÿงฝ in the long run.

If you canโ€™t face it all in one day break down the tasks. I like a to do list ๐Ÿ“‹ & enjoy ticking off โœ… what I have achieved.
Celebrate the small wins & donโ€™t give yourself a hard time if you only do a little each day.

Do you take before & after photos?
Itโ€™s great to do it when you are decorating your home too.

Hope you are all staying cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž in this heatwave & have a lovely weekend.

Five Star โญ Review

What a lovely review to wake up to this morning after a crazy night of thunderstorms โ›ˆ๏ธ & lightning โšก๏ธ.

Anyone that works for themselves really appreciates these comments as we donโ€™t have any line managers telling us if we are doing a good job or not.

Helping others is definitely a passion of mine & I am glad that shows through when I only spent a couple of hours with this lovely client.

Have a lovely day everyone & stay cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž & hydrated. Iโ€™m off to do auntie duties before work.

Family Declutter

Do not worry I am not getting rid of any family members ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€.

I often find that when I visit or speak to my family & friends they tell me how pleased I would be with the organising & decluttering they have done ๐Ÿ˜Š.
When it comes to my lovely elderly mother in law I get roped into completing the task there and then ๐Ÿคฃ.
On other visits she just hands be bits to be taken to the charity shop or for me to sell at boot sale with my nephew.

Itโ€™s great to hear ๐Ÿ‘‚ how people I know are getting on & I love to see new ideas & storage you pick up along the way.
So please share away with me & make me happy.
Any advice please get in touch ๐Ÿ’™.

Remember tidy home ๐Ÿ  tidy mind .
