Eczema is a skin condition that causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin. It can appear as redness, darker patches, flaking, cracking or soreness, depending on your skin tone. It is not contagious.
Common triggers include fragrance, harsh cleansers, heat, weather changes and stress. Some people also react to specific skincare ingredients or allergens. Triggers vary from person to person.
Use a gentle cleansing and avoid scrubbing, use a moisturiser that can help protect the skin barrier.
When eczema is active, less is more. Avoid exfoliating scrubs, peels, strong actives, fragranced products and anything that stings. If you have a facial, choose a gentle, barrier-focused treatment. Eczema-prone skin needs care, not harshness 🤍
Persistent, worsening or infected-looking eczema needs medical advice. If the skin is weeping, crusting, painful or not improving, it’s best to see a GP.
