Trigger points are hard knotty muscly bits. Sometimes they can be released with a bit of sustained pressure. I'm using a hockey ball here so im really careful with where I'm putting it, especially as it's close to the spine, and with how much pressure i'm using. You can use a tennis ball, squash ball or anything that focuses pressure on the tender spot. Let your discomfort guide you. 7/10 is plenty. Muscles in serious pain (IMO) don't tend to relax. So... Find the tender spot. Add pressure. Breathe. When the discomfort reduces, add more pressure. Breathe. Repeat. Stretch. Move. Stretch. Repeat. Exercises to help rehabilitate thoracic stiffness/soreness coming soon.
