Most people don’t need a better home laser.

They need a better understanding of the difference between IPL and laser.

The device I use in clinic costs more than most cars.

Not because it’s fancy.

Because it’s capable of delivering results safely and consistently across different skin types, hair types and treatment areas.

Home devices can absolutely have a place.

But they’re not the same treatment.

And pretending they are doesn’t help anyone.

The truth is, good laser results don’t come from a machine alone.

They come from understanding the skin.

Understanding the hair cycle.

Understanding hormones.

Understanding when not to treat.

And knowing how to adjust treatments safely from one appointment to the next.

That’s one of the reasons I was trusted to become an NHS-funded provider for hair epilation.

Not because of one machine.

But because safe, effective laser treatment is about far more than pressing a button.

Technology matters.

Experience matters.

Clinical judgement matters.

And when it comes to your skin, those things should never be underestimated.

Laser hair removal offers long-term hair reduction.

For many people that means:

✔️ Less shaving
✔️ Softer regrowth
✔️ Fewer ingrown hairs
✔️ Years of confidence

But hormones, age, medication changes and genetics can all influence future growth.

That’s why I prefer the phrase:

“Permanent hair reduction with occasional maintenance.”

It’s honest.

And honesty matters.

POV: You replied to your Fresha appointment notification and assumed I ignored you… 👀

Turns out I never received it.

Good news though…

I can now see and reply to those messages 🤍

So if you’ve ever been left wondering why I didn’t answer, mystery solved. 😂🐆

POV: When the laser treatment takes 15 minutes but the catch-up takes 45 🤍

One of the things nobody really talks about in this industry is how personal these appointments become.

People often arrive thinking we’re going to spend the next 15 minutes talking about hair growth, treatment settings and aftercare.

Instead, somewhere between “How have you been?” and “Ready to start?” we end up discussing relationships, work stress, confidence, children, holidays, hormones, life goals and everything in between.

I’ve lost count of the number of times a client has apologised for talking too much.

Please don’t.

The treatments matter, of course.

But creating a space where people feel comfortable enough to be themselves matters too.

Some of my favourite conversations have happened in this clinic.

And whilst laser hair removal might be the reason people first walk through the door, it’s rarely the only thing we talk about once they’re here.

Now… shall we actually do the laser? 😂🐆

The shaving.
The razor burn.
The ingrowns.
The missed patches.
The regrowth appearing approximately 12 minutes later.

Honestly, this is one of the biggest reasons people start laser hair removal.

Not because they hate hair.
Not because they want to be “perfect”.
But because they’re tired of constantly thinking about it.

My clients always say the biggest change isn’t just smoother skin… it’s the mental freedom that comes with not planning your life around shaving anymore 🤍

I know that probably sounds strange coming from a laser specialist… but honest consultations matter more than selling treatments.

Not every type of facial hair is suitable for laser hair removal.

Very fine, fluffy or hormonally unstable facial hair can sometimes respond unpredictably to laser, which is why a proper consultation is so important — especially on the face.

Downy/fluffy facial hair often responds better to treatments like dermaplaning instead, and I’m always happy to point you towards trusted specialists for those treatments too.

And sometimes?
The best long-term plan is a combination approach.

Many clients start with laser hair removal to reduce the bulk, darkness and density of the hair… then move onto electrolysis later for the final white, grey or stubborn remaining hairs that laser physically can’t target.

Because laser only works on pigment.
So once hairs lose colour, the laser can no longer “see” them.

That’s why I’ll always be honest about:
• whether I think you’re suitable
• what results are realistically achievable
• when I think another treatment may eventually be needed

Good laser isn’t about saying yes to everyone.
It’s about protecting your skin, managing expectations properly and creating the safest, most effective long-term plan for YOU 🤍

The quiet side of running a laser clinic 🤍

One of the hardest parts of this job isn’t the treatments.
It’s the people.

When you work in such a personal industry, clients stop feeling like “appointments” very quickly.

You meet people in really human moments of life.
People rebuilding their confidence after heartbreak.
Clients carrying insecurities they’ve hidden for years, navigating stress, hormones, motherhood, dating, burnout, grief… or simply trying to feel comfortable in themselves again. 🤍

And somewhere between the patch tests, the catch-ups, the progress photos and the “how’s your week been?” conversations… they become part of your life too.

That’s the side of this industry people don’t really talk about.

Because yes, I’m a laser specialist.
But I’m also the person who notices when someone seems quieter than normal.
Who remembers the holiday they were nervous about.

This job is built on trust.
Real trust.

And I think when you work so closely with people’s confidence, you carry a little piece of them with you afterwards too.

That’s why I’ll never see this job as “just beauty”.
For so many people, it’s emotional.
It’s personal.
It’s the beginning of feeling like themselves again.

And honestly?
That part means the most to me. 🐆

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear in this is:

“Laser is laser.”

And honestly? It really isn’t.

Different machines behave differently on the skin.
Different wavelengths target hair differently.
Different cooling systems affect comfort and skin protection.
And the person operating the device matters just as much as the machine itself.

That’s why consultations matter.
Patch tests matter.
Settings matter.
And why I’ll sometimes slow things down, adjust a treatment plan, or even say no to treatment if I don’t think your skin is ready.

Because good laser isn’t about rushing people through appointments or chasing aggressive settings for social media before & afters.

It’s about protecting your skin while getting long-term, sustainable results 🤍

At WILD, every treatment is customised to your skin tone, hair type, medical history and goals using the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus — because safe laser should never be one-size-fits-all.

Hair has no gender.

It grows where it grows.

On faces.
On chests.
On backs.
On bikini lines.
On necks.
On places people don’t always talk about out loud.

And sometimes it affects confidence in a way other people don’t understand.

At WILD, you don’t need to explain why it bothers you.

You just need a safe space, honest advice and a treatment plan that’s built around you.
