• The “Peel” Temptation: (Yes, looking at you!) Picking off your lifting polish is basically peeling off your nail’s top layer.

If you want that fresh-set feeling to last longer than a few days, the magic happens after you leave the salon chair. Here’s how to keep your mani looking flawless and your natural nails healthy:
The Golden Rules of Aftercare:
• Oil is your best friend: Apply cuticle oil daily. It keeps the nail bed hydrated, prevents lifting, and stops those pesky hangnails from starting.
• Don’t use your nails as tools: Your nails are jewels, not screwdrivers! Use your finger pads or a literal tool to open cans or peel stickers.
• Gloves are a must: Cleaning products and hot soapy water are the enemies of a long-lasting mani. Pop some rubber gloves on for those dishes.
• No picking or peeling: If a nail starts to lift, resist the urge to peel it. You’ll take layers of your natural nail with it. Book a quick repair instead!
