💆🏻♂️Headaches could be referral pain from your shoulders!
When your shoulders becomes so tight

It squeeze the capillaries, cutting off oxygen & build up toxic chemicals

Hence triggering distress signals to the brain (via the spinal cord)
Sometimes, your brain gets confused because it receives signals from various parts of the body through the same level of the spinal cord.
In the case of tension headaches, it’s actually your tight shoulders sending the distress signal, but your brain misinterprets the address, giving you a pain sensation all over your temples.

Not gonna lie, things have been super hectic lately. Between a packed clinic schedule, squeezing in mobile appts and working weekends at events. I completely hit a wall.
And honestly? I lost a few clients because of it.
👎🏻My palpation just didn’t feel as sharp.
👎🏻 I rushed through intake and skipped the right questions because I assumed I knew the issue.
👎🏻I relied on my exhausted memory instead of actually checking my client notes.
👎🏻I didn’t make it clear about follow ups and next steps.
To put it bluntly: I was mediocre last week. I knew it, and more importantly, my clients felt it. That sucks to admit, because I care so much about what I do and the people who trust me with their bodies.
So this week, I make a few changes.
❤️Prioritizing sleep, which changes the quality and delivery massively.
❤️Slowing down to ask the right questions before every session.
❤️Getting ready early so my head is actually in the game.
📝Note to Self
Burnout makes you sloppy. Rest brings the passion back. Never forget why the details matter.

PAIN DOESN’T JUST CLEAR UP ON ITS OWN!
Pain is the way your body tries to communicate with you when something is going wrong. The longer you ignore the message, the harder it is to fix.
👉🏻The longer you wait, your body gets more sensitive. Over time, your nervous system dials up the volume, lowering your pain tolerance and making normal movements hurt.
👉🏻Your body break down like dominos. When one area hurts, your body automatically compensates to protect it. I have seen a client started with a minor achilles discomfort, only to end up with hip and neck pain a few weeks later because their posture shifted to avoid the original pain.
What should you do instead?
👉🏻Track your triggers: Notice what aggravates it. Is it sitting for too long, a specific movement in the gym, or driving? Start making small tweaks to those daily habits.
👉🏻Keep gentle movement. Total rest is rarely the answer. Gentle, pain-free movement keeps blood flowing and prevents stiffness.
👉🏻Get expert help: If it persists or gets worse, don’t wait until you’re completely out of action. See a professional—whether that’s sports massage, physio, chiro, or osteo—to get to the root cause.
Stop waiting. Start fixing. Book a session today and let’s get you moving freely again!

🔥💪THROWBACK!
Absolutely buzzing to be part of the sports massage team supporting the FIJI RUGBY NATIONAL TEAM at the Nations Cup in Liverpool a few weeks ago!! 🇫🇯🦁
Helping the players recover and perform their best was amazing! 🙌❤️
Why do I pull out a long metal bar and scrape people’s backs? 🧐
Your muscles are wrapped in thin layers of tissue called fascia. When it’s healthy, these layers glide smoothly over each other. But stress, hard training, or sitting all day makes the fascia sticky and tangled — like cling wrap stuck together. That’s when you feel stiff and sore.
Here’s what the blade actually does:
👍 Restores Movement – It gently separates those stuck layers so your muscles can move freely again.
👍 Relieves Pain – It eases tension on irritated nerves and quickly turns down the pain signals.
👍 Boosts Circulation – It brings fresh blood flow to the area, helping flush out tension and speed up recovery.

Why your hamstrings are always tight (and why stretching isn’t helping) - Part 3
If you’re stretching your hamstrings every single day and they still feel like stiff guitar strings, stop. You might be fighting the wrong battle.
A lot of the time, tight hamstrings are just exhausted because your glutes are slacking off. If your glutes aren’t doing their job when you walk, run, or lift, your hamstrings have to work double shifts to compensate. I see this in my clinic all the time: clients with virtually no glute activation, but incredibly tight, angry hamstrings.
Instead of stretching, you need to get your glutes to actually do their job. Try these out -
🍑Glute Squeezes: Stand up and just practice actively squeezing your glutes. Get used to the feeling of turning them on during the day.
🍑Glute Bridges: Lie on your back, knees bent, and drive your hips up. Squeeze hard at the top.
🍑Prone Hip Extensions: Lie on your stomach and lift one leg straight up, focusing entirely on using your glute (don’t let your lower back take over).
Once your glutes start firing, your hamstrings can finally relax.
Reasons for why your hamstrings are (always) tight and why stretching may not help - part 2
One major reason why your hamstrings always feel tight is that your pelvis is tipped forward, which results in the hamstrings being pulled long from the top.
The fix is to stretch the front of the thigh to put your pelvis back into a more neutral position.

Reasons for why your hamstrings are (always) tight and why stretching may not help - part 1
If a muscle isn’t strong enough to handle the amount of loading, the brain will make it feel “tight” to stop you from moving into ranges of motion where the muscle might tear. This is why strengthening (like those Nordic regressions) often fixes “tightness” better than stretching ever will.
