You may have heard me mention “frosting” during a chemical peel treatment. For those who aren’t familiar with the term, here’s what it means⬇️

❄️Frosting is the white appearance that can develop on the skin during certain chemical peels. It occurs when the peel interacts with proteins in the skin, creating a temporary white appearance, indicating that the solution has reached the intended depth of treatment.

❄️It’s important to know that frosting isn’t the skin peeling or burning. Instead, it’s a normal clinical endpoint that helps me as your skin specialist, monitor the treatment and ensure it’s working as intended.

❄️Not every chemical peel produces frosting, and the amount can vary depending on the type of peel used and your skin condition.
