We started making lip balms for personal use.
We found that the ones sold in stores always featured ingredients full of weird chemical stuff. Therefore we thought, why not make our own? We started making them for ourselves back in 2013, frankly three years now. And you know sometimes when your out of lip balm you ask your friends for some. When our friends tried our lip balm, they kind of tried to steal it from us, or rather, they would "forget" to give it back. So, we started making some more giving it away to our friends and loved ones. This escalated, fast, so we thought why not spread our product, it seems to work. Why "Mellifera"
To sell a product though, you need a name. Our most important ingredient is beeswax so it was an easy choice when we found that the latin name for bee is "apis mellifera", doesn't it sound cute? And also since we are greek, let's mention the fact that "melli" is greek for honey and "fera" means to bring or to carry something. In other words, we bring you honey.
