Throwback Thursday ~

Another fun hairstyle from my 80s era — an orange-coloured pixie cut!

Back in the day, bleach was nowhere near as kind to hair as it is now. Asian hair would often snap off before it would lift enough to become a nice, clean blonde, so I frequently found myself embracing the reds, coppers and oranges instead.

And then there was my wonderfully wirey Asian hair, which simply refused to be texturized enough to make a soft, cute little Mia Farrow pixie. This was pre-razor days, mind you!

So instead of soft and cute, it would inevitably end up looking more like a bog brush!!

This photo was taken when I was working as a hairdressing teacher at the fabulous Rodger Craig Academy in Hong Kong. What an incredible time that was — great people, great hair and plenty of questionable 80s decisions!

A quick update on Renovo Biotin Hairline Enhancer after 5 months of use on my client.

We could already see a noticeable improvement at the 3-month mark (middle picture), showing that the serum was already doing its job. We decided to take another photo at 5 months because my client felt like she was losing more hair in general and was concerned.

I was curious too, but regarding her hairline, once I put all three photos together, the results were clear. Her hairline has not only held—it actually looks fuller and thicker.

When we look at ourselves every single day, it’s so difficult to notice these gradual changes. That’s why taking before photos is so important. Having something to compare back to can really show the progress that our eyes often miss.
