I know many of you were interested to see this eyeliner removal journey. This is after 2 sessions of laser. Just life changing. Just to note, I can remove all or just part of an eyeliner. If your eyeliner has blown out or is crooked, we can just take away the unwanted areas.

For clients with little or no brow hair that would like to have them tattooed but also want a slim or thin brow, this is the style I do. This technique can be called machine hairstrokes, nano brows or realism brows. There were no microblades used to create these. This style of brow is best suited to people who wear minimal makeup or no makeup daily.

When microblading is done wrong, the result is not just bad shape or colour, its also scarring. This makes removal more difficult.
This is before and after 1 session of laser. Yes its a huge improvement but now we are at the difficult part. Manual removal is next on the journey to get those organic orange and yellows out, but scars trap ink, making the process slow. The process will help the scarring but some will always be there. The client could try medical microneedling to improve it.

Should I choose a powder brow or hairstokes? I love hairstrokes because a fluffy brow is my personal preference. But some clients prefer a defined brow and in that case a powder brow is more suitable. You can also combine the techniques for a custom brow. Machine Hairstroke Brows. This is immediately after session 1. These tiny delicate strokes must now go through a 6 week healing period. After that, another session takes place where we reinforce the colour and add more strokes if nessessary. Its a balancing act for each skin type to use the right pigment, put the right amount in the skin and at the right depth. The technique has to be adjusted slightly for each person depending on skintype. But it is suitable for all ages and all skin types. The only people hairstrokes are not suitable for are those who wear high coverage foundation since it camoflages the little strokes. And people with eczema or psoriasis. The tattoo doesnt tend to last long when suffering with these skin conditions.

Another eyeliner tattoo I am currently removing. This client has a long road ahead of her to remove this.
Iron oxides are often recommended as the pigment of choice for eyeliner beginners because they have a lower risk of migrating under the skin. Migration is when an artist goes too deep and the ink starts to fan out, looking like a bruise. However, depth was just 1 of a list of problems with this tattoo. It clearly wasnt pre mapped, it was badly free handed, and the artist has worked in multiple danger zones. She was also heavy handed in all areas. So while the migration might be minimal, the tattoo design is very bad. Because iron oxides were used it is much more difficult and much more painful to remove. This artist has been doing eyeliner a long time. It is my opinion that they are self taught because this eyeliner breaks so many rules. The artist has washed their hands of the situation when really they should be paying for the removal.

Machine Hairstrokes. This client had microblading done 15 years ago and luckily the artist used pigments which faded out to almost nothing. This meant I could create new machine brows without first needing to do laser removal and without the dreaded yellow left behind by some microblading pigments.
Just to clarify, microblading is done using a handheld tool that cuts into the skin to make a valley for pigment to sit in. Machine hairstrokes puncture the skin using needles much finer than a sewing needle. This creates teeny tiny holes which suck in the pigment. This method is better for the skin long term, allows us to use a wide variety of pigments and allows us to be more creative with our patterns. It is also suited to all skin types.
These brows are freshly done and when they heal they will look more blurred and subtle. I will post the healed result in a couple of months.
