Our connection to essential oils is instinctive. ✨

Throughout different phases of my life, I have found myself drawn to different essential oils. Something inside me knew the oils I needed to carry me through that season, the ups, the downs and the transitions.

Essential oils are about more than relaxation. They are about healing, support and balance, enabling emotional regulation in the moments when life feels unsettled.

So I felt called to create something where I could help you deepen your connection to essential oils and expand your aromatherapy practice into a personalised daily ritual for whatever season you’re in.

The Autumn Pause is a special wellbeing experience where you take time out of your busy schedule to enjoy calm, nurturing and reflection, looking after your needs first and foremost.

🍂 Booking for The Autumn Pause is open now and closes when the limited number of tickets are sold. I want to keep the group small enough for each of you to feel seen and supported.

Take a breath… and de-stress with a simple breathwork technique.

Whatever is going on in your day right now, set it down and create a mindful moment. You’ll go back to whatever you need to do with greater calm and clarity.

Let’s start with taking three deep breaths…

As a trained aromatherapist, I have always enjoyed breathwork techniques. It goes hand-in-hand with aromatherapy.

Inhaling essential oils is the fastest way to feel the therapeutic effects. Continuing to anchor to the breath as the essential oils relax the body deepens the calming sensations.

Alternate nostril breathing is an effective technique. Like walking (I love mindful walking), it engages both the left and right sides of the body and brain. Bilateral movement is known to be really calming.

đź’š Start by placing your thumb on the left side of your nose and closing the left nostril.

đź’š Inhale through the right nostril. Then use your finger to close the right nostril too and hold the breath.

đź’š After that, release your thumb from your left nostril and exhale.

đź’š Then start again, this time inhaling through the left and exhaling through the right.

To initiate the relaxation process before starting a breathwork exercise like this, try the Esker Fields Relax Rollerball. The essential oil blend is instantly calming.

🌿 is here to be the pause, the deep breath and the stillness in your day.

For when you realise you haven’t stopped all day…

But you don’t have time for a break.

All it takes is a couple of breaths to feel more centred, calm and able to take on the day until you do have time for a proper rest.

I always have my Relax Rollerball with me so when I feel the overwhelm building, I can pause, inhale the essential oil aromas through three deep breaths and feel the release.

The essential oil blend is designed to initiate calming processes in the body. All you have to do is breathe in the aromas.

🪻 Pick up a Relax Rollerball from the Esker Fields website and discover a calming anchor to carry you through the day.

What can you take from the Japanese practice of forest bathing?

Have you heard of this before? The Japanese term shinrin-yoku translates to forest bathing. The idea is you immerse yourself in nature to enjoy the wellbeing benefits of being outside and connected to the natural world.

There is something so mindful about noticing and losing yourself in the beauty of nature. While not everyone has a forest nearby, there are so many ways you can connect to nature.

🌿 Go on a walk in your local area, noticing trees, birds or even the clouds in the sky.
🌿 Stand barefoot in the garden and feel the sense of grounding as you connect to the soil.
🌿 Care for potted plants, spending mindful moments watering them.
🌿 Inhale essential oil aromas and let the plant-derived scents calm and soothe you.

The Esker Fields Relax Rollerball is a great starting point for essential oils. You can also enjoy natural essential oils in skincare and bodycare products. Browse the Esker Fields website to explore your options.

Take a breath… and send loving energy to your body.

I know you have a lot on but you have time to take three deep breaths, anchoring yourself in the present moment. You’ll feel a lot calmer afterwards.

While we’re here, do a quick body scan. Notice where you are holding tension and send loving energy to those places to release it.

Our bodies carry us through the day. They deserve to be nurtured and cared for. Doing so can help us get out of our heads and let go of worried thoughts to be with our bodies in the present moment.

A few simple stretches or a walk around the block can be enough to release tension and stress and feel more grounded. If you find it harder to drop into mindful practices, aromatherapy can ease the relaxation. I recommend taking a few deep inhales of the Esker Fields Relax Rollerball to initiate calming processes in your body.

What’s one small thing that you could do as intentional movement this week?

🌿 is here to be the pause, the deep breath and the stillness in your day.

Finding serenity in slow moments.

We all have times when we wish life could slow down. There is so much going on in all the different areas of our lives, work, family, home, friends, that we can barely keep up.

While making everything slow down isn’t achievable, enjoying slow moments is.

These are moments when we make the most of the pause to reset, recharge and reconnect. It might only last a few minutes or even seconds but we have been able to step away from the rush and just be.

What I love about embracing slow moments is that it takes the pressure out of self-care. You don’t have to do anything complicated, demanding or time-consuming. This can get us stuck in a negative thought cycle of overpromising what we’re doing for self-care and then thinking negatively about ourselves when we can’t manage it.

Slow moments are a simple relief. It’s something that has been embraced across cultures for many years. From Japanese forest bathing to Danish hygge, discover how different cultures create slow moments in the new blog on the Esker Fields website.

✨ I’ve taken these concepts and come up with ideas for how to integrate slow moments into your life. Follow the link in my bio to read.

I always liked hand cream, the scent and sensations of applying it. There was something mindful about it before I even realised what mindfulness was.

It’s no surprise that after I became a trained aromatherapist, I wanted to create a hand cream infused with gorgeous essential oils.

I experimented with a formula and came up with a blend of natural butters and relaxing essential oils. It was exactly what I had imagined!

Initially, I had just created the hand cream for me. I also had my husband Terry in mind. As he works on the farm all day, his hands need protection from the elements.

Then I realised how beneficial it would be for other people to have a moment of mindfulness in a pot of hand cream.

The first market where I sold my products confirmed my path to Esker Fields. I will never forget seeing people physically relax as they smelled the hand cream.

đź’š The founding formula of Esker Fields is still a favourite to this day. Try out or top up on the Esker Fields Moisturising Hand Cream by shopping on our website.
