To be recognised once again for the passion, love and hard work I’ve poured into my brand and career for almost 30 years honestly means so much to me. I’m feeling incredibly grateful, proud and excited to be recognised alongside some of the most amazing brands and individuals in the industry. And WOW… seeing the names I’m up against in these categories is honestly mind-blowing! 🥹

Anyone who knows me personally knows just how hard I work and how driven, motivated and passionate I am about what I do. I’ve built Bohemian Beauty from the ground up, completely on my own, while also being a single mum to my three amazing daughters. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve always believed in my little dream and kept pushing forward. 🤍

✨ WHY CAN YOUR SPRAY TAN GO PATCHY OR CRACK? ✨

A flawless tan starts with the right preparation 🤎

1. You haven’t exfoliated
Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells and creates a smooth, even base for your tan. Ideally, exfoliate the day before your appointment.

2. You exfoliated or shaved on the day
Try to avoid shaving or exfoliating immediately before your tan. This can leave the skin more sensitive, uneven and can affect how the tan develops. Shave and exfoliate at least the day before.

3. Your skin has products on it
Come to your appointment with clean, product-free skin where possible. Moisturiser, body oils, perfume, deodorant and other products can create a barrier and interfere with the tan developing evenly.

4. Your skin is very dry
Dry or flaky areas can grab onto the tan differently, particularly around the elbows, knees, ankles, hands and feet. Keeping your skin well moisturised in the days leading up to your tan can help — just make sure you arrive with no moisturiser or oils on the skin.

5. You’ve used oil-based products beforehand
Body oils and some heavily moisturising products can sit on the skin and prevent the solution from developing evenly.

6. You got wet too soon
Water, sweating or rubbing the skin before your tan has had enough time to develop can cause uneven or patchy areas. Follow your tan artist’s recommended development time.

I’m beyond grateful and incredibly proud to receive this recognition. 🥹✨

After 28 years in the tanning industry and 17 years since opening my own salon, this moment feels incredibly special especially for the entrepreneur award.

I’ve had the privilege of building my two businesses solely on my own from the ground up, while also being a mammy to three and balancing all that comes with family life and running two business’s. It’s been an incredible journey, filled with hard work, dedication and so many amazing moments along the way. 🤍

To now be recognised for something I’ve poured so much time, passion and love into makes this achievement even more meaningful.

I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me, believed in me and supported my businesses throughout the years.

A little reintroduction… 🤎

There are lots of new faces here, so I thought it was time to give you some background on Bohemian Beauty.

My story with tanning started all the way back in 1998, when I was just 18 and pregnant with my first daughter.

What started as mobile spray tanning, travelling from house to house to make a little extra money alongside my accountancy job, became something I genuinely fell in love with.

And those little spray tans went further than I ever could have imagined… they helped me get my first mortgage at just 23 and, not long after, I built my second home completely by myself. 🤎

Years of training followed — beauty, skin, massage, then a year long course for advanced teaching so I could deliver training to the highest standard — and in 2009 I opened my own salon.

I’m still there today, running a fully booked salon completely on my own, alongside my product business, Bohemian Beauty.

Then came 2017.

After nearly two decades of spray tanning and knowing exactly what I loved and hated about tanning products, I decided it was time to create my own.

I spent over two years developing my first formulas before launching Hippy Glow and Boho Bronze.

Two products.
One huge dream.

And now, Bohemian Beauty has grown into a range of 30+ products.

But what I’m even more proud of is how I’ve built all of this while raising my three daughters on my own, supporting them and building our life through my own hard work.

They are my biggest why.

I want my girls to know you don’t need to wait for someone to give you an opportunity.

If you want something badly enough, work your ass off and build it.

That’s always been my mindset.

And after all these years, my hunger, ambition and love for business hasn’t changed one bit.
