Look for any redness, swelling, cracks, blisters, callus build-up, changes in skin colour, wounds or signs of infection.
Early detection can help prevent ulceration, infection and other foot health complications.

👣 Cracked heels are more than just a cosmetic concern.
When the skin on the heels becomes excessively dry and thickened, deep fissures can develop. These cracks can be painful, bleed, and increase the risk of infection, particularly for those with diabetes, poor circulation, or compromised immunity.
This client's heels had significant dry skin and fissuring. Following professional treatment, the skin is smoother, healthier, and the risk of further cracking has been reduced.
Regular foot care, appropriate moisturising, and early intervention can help prevent complications and keep feet comfortable and healthy.

This client lost both big toenails after wearing a friend's shoes, which led to significant trauma to the nail plates. The good news is that the nails are now growing back beautifully and healthy new nail growth is visible. 🙌
In an ideal situation, I would always recommend leaving the natural nail free from reconstruction whenever possible, as this allows us to monitor the nail and support healthy growth without covering it.
However, with a holiday coming up, my client wanted to feel confident showing her feet, so we opted for temporary nail prosthetics to restore the appearance of the toenails while the natural nails continue to grow underneath.
Nail prosthetics can be a fantastic confidence booster, but they do require regular maintenance and monitoring to ensure the health of the natural nail remains the priority.

This patient had a NiTi (Nickel Titanium Memory Wire) brace applied to help gently correct the nail and reduce discomfort from an ingrown toenail.
Because nail polish can't be applied directly over the brace, we got creative with some cute polka dots on the big toe instead! 💕
