A quick update 🤍

​It has been an incredibly difficult week, and as we finally see it coming to an end, I wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everyone who has reached out.

I have been completely overwhelmed by the kindness, well wishes, and amazing offers of cars, food, help with cleaning, or just a chat. It truly means the world to me.
So many texts, phone calls and check ins - every one of them appreciated.

​Because we live in a small town, I know there are already a few different versions of this story going around with extra "details" added on!

It never ceases to amaze me how 1 story can be blown out of proportion to the point its almost laughable.

And if we dont laugh, we would cry.

But the truth is always heard and I wont be parking so close to my house anymore.

​Last Tuesday morning at 1:37AM, I woke up knowing something was wrong. Due to an electrical fault in the van, it sparked under the bonnet and it went on fire. A neighbour saw it happen and raised the alarm immediately.

Thankfully all the neighbours were woke and calls were made for help.

😔 Sadly, the fire spread to my car and caused severe damage to the front of our house, as well as some damage to our neighbor’s home. We had to evacuate straight away.

This was absolutely petrifying, pulling kids from beds and having to wrap them in duvets in our garden while hearing bangs and explosions from tyres, windows and doors.

​I am so incredibly thankful for the rapid response of the fire service. I'm also grateful to the Gardai and the forensic team, who were able to safely release the house back to us after confirming it was purely an electrical fault the next day.

We’ve since been able to get back inside, clean up, and make the house safe again for myself and the kids.
​At the end of the day, cars can be replaced and walls can be fixed, but I am eternally grateful that our children are safe and that no one was harmed.
